s an age of industrial progress. On every hand is heard the whirr of machinery and seen the products of skill and training. Those men who arc achieving the greatest success are not the captains of war but the captains of industry. It is a period of fierce competition where every energy is taxed to the utmost, where only the strongest and best equipped can obtain recognition and success. To fit men for this struggle, to give them the requisite training, Purdue University was established. The graduates of Purdue are found, not in the pulpit, not on the bench, but in the great centers of industry; wherever construction and production are in progress, there are found the men of Purdue lending their trained minds and skilled hands to the work in progress. To enable these men to withstand the competition which they must meet and win success in the struggle, the best possible in equipment and instruction has been provided.
