THE 1975 ASTRON IS DEDICATED TO LEONARD L. PERKINS, DEAN OF STUDENTS NICONG a LEAR io es we are fools who have laid out and bound and covered this year for you. we are naive those of us who have tried _ to capture each event and then sold it to a certain section. after all, everyone knows that you can’t stop time. how can you, when life is just a carnival that goes on and on? yet we frantically snapped pictures and i endlessly compiled words all to try to preserve the special moments. we hold time in the palm of our hands trying to understand why it keeps going on and on and never stops | not even for the special moments, | why it instead : seems to move ‘more rapidly then | and only lingers during moments sad and bleak. dawn 3 life is just a carnival faces, booths, mirrors, and rides. what are we all doing here? sometimes it doesn’t seem real. 4 dawn dawn’ 5 p 6 dawn oney and more and | more and money _ every booth becomes ae another chance : money and more and more and money oe — life is just a gamble. belek eet ' dawn 7 eee Py oe RY _— ) ferris wheel take me away take me high and up around we go, farther away life is one lorg ride. many mirrors everywhere surround me, reflect me. who am i ? is this really me? | a) dawn 9 laughing, chanting, just an assembly of faces § ong 4 = = 10 dawn 11 dawn ‘i cic heute eae RRR onan ae on ¢ so many people, so many children, so many dreams, people wandering. yes, another day at the carnival is about to begin, but i have to get away. where are the quiet lands? where is it fresh and silent, and free of man? : 12 dawn dawn 13 feeling so good the sun is awake the breeze is soft your breath touches mine i know it’s us that i feel we re inside of each other even the beauty of the day moves aside makes way for us the music of your voice enters my mind and we're free again free together a new kind of independence for me i shall always be yours to hold my love. dawn 15 ere ae aad od pen i Miosetirw 16 : Too slow for those who wait. Who can say if quiet and solitude is better than group discussion and review? 40 The library with its comfortable furniture, a place to lounge and doze while we read The only statements that can be made are that each student attempted to learn something. Maybe it had nothing to do with the class. Maybe sometimes the class seemed too much. Learning 41 | wish they'd let me Tear down the walls .. - .
