Gables The Gables is Purdue Calumet’s fine arts club. Sponsored by Miss Sigrid Stark, the club kept up its tradition of sponsoring the annual spring art show. Members also sponsored poetry readings by Assistant Professor of English, Mr. Charles Tinkham, who read selections of his published works. Foreign culture was introduced when members watched slides of Germany, and music was introduced in the culture pro- gram by aconcert of the school’s pep band. President of the club was Donald Reichert, Vice-President’s post went to Mary Hluska, while Judy Butinski and Judy Dietrich held offices as Secretary and Treasurer.

American Chemical The Purdue Calumet Chapter of the American Chemical Society at- tempted, throughout the 1969-70 ac- ademic year, to ‘encourage in the broadest and most liberal manner, the advancement of chemistry in all its branches,” and to ‘‘promote scientific interests and inquiry.” The A.C.S. chapter at Purdue spon- sored films, field trips, and talks given by chemists from other educational institutions or from industry.
