Veterans The 1969-70 academic year saw the forming of the Purdue Cal’s Veteran Club, when fifty ex-G.l.’s formed an Organization to insure benefits and common social activities. The club sponsored a semi-formal party, and supported “Operation Handclasp,’’ a national project to help feed seven hundred South Vietna- mese war orphans. Election of officers brought forth Mike Yugo as President, Joe Thiel as Vice-President, John Walters as Sec- retary, Rich Bates as Treasurer, and Terry Clemons as Sergeant-at-Arms. Top row, I-r: R. Phi Kappa Theta’s float won first prize in the Homecoming Parade. The fraternity also celebrated pledge dances, a halloween party, ice skat- ing parties, a Christmas party for needy children, and participation in Christmas Week. Faculty advisor was Mr. G. Kach- ons.
