Concentrating on set-shot is Ray Thilmont. Purdue Pipers under dir ection of mentor John Shields, showed determination and spirit by finishing season with 12 victories and 8 defeats. The highlight of the season was the Homecoming ‘Happening’ which the Pipers won in double overtime by a score of 124-119. This was the crowning event to an already unbelievable Homecoming. The Pipers also won a real heart-stopper, when they conquered a tall, fast, ball-hawking Aquinas team. Pipers came back with the speed, hot-shooting, and good ball control they employed all season to pull the game out of the fire with less than a minute to play. The score was the Pipers 91, the Aquinas 88. Special recognition should be given to Senior Dennis Musgrave. He has been a valuable asset to the Pipers this year.
