“Direction Starts Year ‘Direction’ themes the 1968 ASTRON. A staff was selected by Editor Lois Borsay and positions were as- signed, with the concept of a revolving staff as the basis of organization. Each staff member worked in all areas to obtain a well-rounded, meaningful exper- ience. Weekly staff meetings began shortly on develop- ment in the last weeks of summer vacation. Work con- tinued through the year, with concentrated efforts during vacations. The advertising campaign began with the aim to pay off standing debts. Work continued with layouts and copy being worked out and completed. Amateur photographers tracked down subjects and flashed cam- eras. Staff members sought to meet printer's deadlines and complete material for each section. Pace quickened as mid-April final deadline grew near.
