Student Congress made many advances during the 1967-68 school year. One of the most significant ‘happenings'' was the establishment of communication channels with the administra- tion to and from the students. Senators established the student- faculty relations committee and became part of the convoca- tion hour committee. Efforts wer e begun to reorganize the Student Affairs Committee. ''Gripe Sessions'' were conducted mn the food lounge and sessions were arranged with bookstore representatives. Student services included reinstating of card playing in lounges, installation of a juke box in the food lounge, opening of vacent classrooms for study, co-sponsoring of weekly T.G.1.F. dances, and teacher rating. Senators planned activities such as the Homecoming Happening, the second annual Spring Dinner-Dance, and the annual Activities Banquet. Student Con- gress assisted other organizations in making the Traffic Court all-student, assuming financial support of cheerleaders, assisting m reorganization of the Boilermaker, and arranging for the sale of Student Gift-Pax for the support of the baseball team. Finally, = Student Bill of Rights was drafted and put to a vote of the student body. Under responsible leadership of two cabinets, Student Congress made great strides in service to PUCC. Standing left to right— Dave Vanderbilt, Margaret Dick, Debbie Sheets, Juan Flores, Mike Grabowski, Judy Jackson, Lea Gilman, Rich Schwartz, Milton Skrupa, Cid Cieskiewicz, Henry Grubel, Ken Carlson and Warren Griggs. Former Congress President Doug Fix demonstrates his engineering ability.
