Following pre-registration, Fresh- man found their way to the Armory for Orientation. Following welcome addresses by Dr. Elliott and Mr. Hubbard, incoming students were familiarized with opportunities at PUCC. They then viewed displays and booths set up by organizations to interest freshmen. Guides direct- ed the newcomers from the Armory to the campus for a directed tour. Orientation ended up with an out- door luncheon at the Kappa Pi Delta house nearby. Registration found students who had not pre-registered standing in lines, arranging classes and paying fees. After checking and process- ing schedules, and solving conflicts of classes, all students prepared to begin classes. COLLEGE LIFE begins with confusion of registration. Confusion and Organization Mark Registration LONGING TO JOIN COLLEGE-BOUND FRIEND, Pixie admires beanie and pennant. FRESHMAN CAP is part of college life for Carole Fraker.

Proud families and community watched as outstanding students were recognized at annual Honors Day Program. Students attaining 5.0 or higher index were honored for their achieve- ments at the outdoor assembly. Judy Pataki, sophomore, was named outstanding student of 1966-1967 for achievements including a 6.0 in- dex. Award of gold watch was presented by Phil Mateja, President of the Purdue Alumni Club of Lake County. Program was highlighted by the address of Dr. Charles H. Lawshe, Vice President for Regional Campuses. JUDY PATAKI receives Outstanding Student Award for 1966-1967. STUDENTS RECEIVE TRIBUTE for hours of work. 12 piepit rs Sr
