Miss Mary Kennedy 25 Years of Devoted Service This year marks Purcell's Silver Iubilee, but it also commemorates the twenty-fifth consecutive year Which Brother Bill has spent at Purcell. During these years Brother Bill has helped tremendously to give meaning to our motto: Outstanding among all. Brother Bill's long stay at Purcell has enkindled the spirit of the schoolg his loyalty has passed on this spirit to each student. The first organization of Purcell's march- ing band Was the work of Brother Bill. He laid the foundation upon which it still builds. lntellectually and culturally he has de- veloped boys in preparation for entrance into their life work. Teaching mathematics has long been part of his daily' schedule. Brother Schroeder is best known as ath- letic director of all of Purcell's sports. His tireless work in this position has been re- sponsible in no small measure for Purcell's success in all interschool athletic competi- tion In appreciation of all Brother Bill has done for the athletic, cultural, intellectual, and spiritual growth of Purcell during the past twenty-tive years, we dedicate to him the 1953 Cavalier. God bless you. Brother Bill. and may you be safeguarded throughout the coming years.
