DONEY SHOWS HOW ISH GOES UP IN THE AIR OZZIE PAUSES Y BILL AND GENEVIEVE CUT UP GAY AND JANE PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE 5 J-3.--,, ..,,. ,: Dedicafion E, the graduating class of 1955, are very happy to dedicate this issue of The Mirror to a very wonderful and special person. Being a popular teacher in the Commercial Depart- ment, the hard working sponsor of the F.B.L.A., and an active church worker are only a few of his many assets . His winning smile and friend- ly manner have made him one of the best-liked teachers at our school . Upon graduating from Punxsy High in 1942, he served three and one- half years in the Navy. He received his Bache- lor of Science Degree in Education from Indiana State Teachers' College and his Master of Ed- ucation Degree in Educational Administration fromPennsylvaniaState University. lt is, there- fore, with pride and pleasure that we dedicate the 1955 issue of The Mirror to Mr. Harry Williams . lcgrif 'bn--f I f 1 Dedicaiion HE Seniors of 1955 also wish to dedicate this yearbook to Jane Ruth one of the most outstanding personalities of the class . Her ability to overcome a severe handicap has been an inspiration to all who know her. She has become one of the most popular members of the senior class . She serves as the capable president of the F. B. L. A., is a valuable member of the Hi Lights staff, and is co-editor for Public Relations . In addition, throughout her school years she has maintained high scholastic rating. After being on the queen's court in her sophomore and junior years, jane, as a senior, was elected Football Queen. We, the seniors, feel that this dedication is a fitting tribute to one of the finest persons we know. I img ytfzyyy ,gf .'.. sim Adminisfrafion AMES T. During the 1954-55 season, they had seven wins and fourteen losses. Despite this record, some fine games were witnessed by local fans. On December 5, PLl11XS'y played an aggressive, opening game against Reynoldsville defeating them 52-36. Sopho- more joe Steiner led the scoring with 18 points. Clearfield came to Punxsutawney with an unbeaten tearng but with the Chucks playing heads up ball, they almost won. Final score--Clearfield 67, Ptmxsutawney 66. In one of their best games of the season, Punxs'y downed Altoona 58-56. The outcome was decided by Bob Ishman's jump shot with fifteen seconds remaining. Previous to this game, Altoona had lost only one out of eleven. Punxs'y displayed a slow, deliberate team in their win over Sykesville, 70-51. High scorer for the night was jack Crawford with 26 points. The seniors played their last game of the season in the disappointing upset at Bradford--86 -3 8.
