THE MIRROR Donald Goldthwaite Scientific Course Football, 2, 3, 45 Wrestling, 1, 2, 3, 4, Varsity Club, 2, 3, 4, Track, 3, Interclass Mushball, 3, Interclass Baseball, 3, Jr. Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4, A. A., 1, 2, 3, 4. I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul. We are proud to graduate with Goldy. Although he has not been with us these last few weeks of school, we were all aware of his pres- ence the greater part of the term. Goldie is, in no small way, an athlete. In football and wrestling he carried the school's colors with the greatest degree of good sports- manship. Goldy never gave up, and the injury that took him from us the last part of '38 did not lower his fortitude. A good student, an athlete of better than average, Don has won numbers of friends both in and outside the portals of P. H. S. We, the Senior Class of '38, sincerely extend our best wishes to Goldy for his future success. Edward Gotwald Scientific Course A. A., 1, 2, 3, 4, Jr. Red Cross, 2, 3, 4, Health Club, 2, Science Club, 3, 4g Gods of the Mountains, 4. Whose yesterdays look backwards with a smile. Ed is a sociable fellow, well-liked by all his classmates. He has a pleasant sense of liumor and possesses the ability to know when some- thing is funny and when it isn't. We sometimes wonder whether he is laughing at us or with us. Outwardly Edu is a neat, well-dressed person. Inwardly he is a friendly sort of person ready in heart and hand. Besides this quality of neatness, he is courteous and well-mannered. His sense of humor and his even disposition make him an unusually pleasant character. Ed is particularly interested in sports of all kind. He also likes to engage in a good time as well as the rest of us, but when the time comes to work, he never shirks. Ed has no definite plans for the future, but his likeable personal- ity will curry him forward. The best wishes of the Class of '38 go with you, Ed. 1 Thirty Stanley Geary Graff General Course Basketball 3, 43 Interclass Softball, 3, 4, Hi-Y, 3, 45 Glee Club, 43 A. A., 3, 4, Track Manager, 35 Secretary ,Junior Class, 35 President Senior Class, 4. Q Work first, then rest. This member of P. H. S.'s Terrific Three came to us his Junior year, and in two years he has made friends with nearly everyone. Butch is a masterpiece of efficiency and is well acquainted with hard work. This asset, coupled with his popularity, has made him a very capable Senior Class President. In his spare time Rock'l has proven to be a basketball player of no little ability. The future has not been decided, according to f'Stan,'l but he can never do less than succeed. Best of Luck, Butch

TI-IE MIRROR Guy Gattuso General Course Red Cross, 2, 3, A. A., 3, 4. No one will be more profoundly sad than he who laughs too much. Guy is that serious boy you see as you .walk around the halls. Guy is rather quiet, but after you get to know him, you find him a real friend. Although he is quiet, he can laugh at the right time. . Guy is admired by the fairer sex. Every day he comes from Adrian with one of them. What it is that attracts the girls, we are not sure, but we are sure that his dark hair and striking brown eyes help. Guy is an ardent lover of music. I-Ie is not sure what he wants to do but with his winning smile, we feel sure he will be successful. john Gernat Comlmercial Course Red Cross, 2, 3, 45 A. A., 3, 4, Wrestling, 1, 43 Football, 2, 3, 4, Inter- class Softball, 2, 3g Interclass Baseball, 3, Varsity Club, 3, 4. True worth is in being not seeming. Johnny is a rather quiet individual, who conducts his academic operations from Room S. And these operations include a very successful commercial schedule. Despite his rather small size, John is a real football and wrestling star. He didn't make the headlines, but he kept many an opponent out OI the paper's win column. His athletic colleagues speak highly of John's work in his chosen sports and will add no less emphatically that he is a lighter to the end. His commercial work in P. H. S. will probably lead him to that field in the future. We are pulling for you, johnny, Best of Luck! Edwin Gibson General Course A. A., 2, 43 Red Cross, 4. IlfIi1'th with thee I mean to live. If you chance to hear laughter coming from Room 5 before school in the morning or at noon, you can feel assured that f'Eddie is jesting with someone. Eddie,' delights in having heaps of fun with his friends. His joviality has paved a way for the friendship which exists between him and his classmates. In spite of his light-heartedness and without-a-care-in-the-world manner he is a boy of various moods, for he can be just as quiet as he is noisy at times when serious moods are necessary. Those times are few and far between. , We do not know whether Eddie, has any definite plans for the future, but herels wishing him luck in anything he undertakes. Twenty-nine
