' H is limbs were cast in 'manly mould For hardy tasks or contests bold. 1 To the casual observer Slick appears as a quiet, neat, and hand- some fellow whose athletic posture and broad shoulders label him deli- uitely as an athlete-but what an athlete, a three letter man in his Freshman year. The furious and faultless coordination packed into his stature is nothing short of amazing. Slick is acclaimed by all as Mr. Harrick put into words, The best halfback I ever coached, and coming from the coach, it speaks volumes. To add to all this Slick is always high in scholastic stand- ing, and as an all-'round swell fellow he has no peer. It seems quite certain that a major university will possess him in the future. Good luck, 'tSlickerf' David Edwards General Course A. A., 2, 3, 4, Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4, Football Manager, 1, 2, Wrestling lvlanager, Z, Camera Club, 2, 3, 4, President of Camera Club, 3. Yet had his aspect nothing of severe But such a face as jsronzised his sincere. David is -inclined to take everything as it comes and bothers little about anything. Yet, in his slow way, he seems to accomplish a great deal. David spends most of his time in company with a fellow classmate, at these times he seems very much on the alert. , David is quite interestered in amateur photography and a very active member of the Camera Club. Davidls plans for the future are undecided, but we wish you good luck, David! . Marietta K. Elkin General Course A. A., 1, 2, 3, 4, Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4. Do not worry for the future, The present is all thou hast. Marietta is the tall, blond girl from! Room 4, who is always laugh- ing. She is usually seen in the company of Rae at noon and after school. Her giggle has become an ever-present feature of her homeroom.. Out of school Marietta enjoys swimming and mushball in which she is quite proficient. She has one other interest, but it wouldn't be fair to disclose his identity. ' ' Marietta's future occupation is rather vague, but we all wish her the best of luck in whatever she does. Twenty-five

A day for toil, an hour for sport. That old man hobbling through the halls lately is really not old. It is just our friend, Pete. Pete has been suffering from a leg injury from a recent basketball encounter at Rossiter, and the method he uses to get about reminds one of an enfeebled, old man. No offence Pete, for we wish you a speedy recovery. Pete is very active in Press Club work. By his ability and work, Pete as the Sports Editor of the H11-Lights, has contributed greatly to the success of the Hi-Lights this year. Sports hold a deep fascination for Pete, and hardly a thing happens in the field of sports that Pete cannot tell you about. Therefore, Pete's favorite pastime is following sports in general, baseball and football in particular. Pete is uncertain as to what he will be doing next year, but we wish him success. Catherine Ellen Dock Commercial Course Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4, A. Kae hopes to become somebody's stenogf' Lucky somebody. Good luck and best wishes, Kae. Twenty- f our 1 Helen Ruth Dunmire General Course Red Cross, 3, 4, A. A., 3, 4, Girls' Glee Club, 4, Double Quartette for Forensic League, 4, t'Please Do Not Pick the Flowers, 4. A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance. Helen is that happy young lass who may be seen frequently ambling around the streets or in the school halls with Jimmy and Jane. One look at her would give the impression that she is a carefree, lighthearted person, who has absolutely nothing in mind but to laugh and have a good time. However, we know that behind that cherry countenance lies a vein of seriousness, which is sometimes given a chance to show itself. Helen is fond of sports, dancing, parties, and a general good time. Never does she miss a game, or pass up a chance to be in on some fun. Although, as yet, Helen is entirely undecided as to where the course of her future life may lead, we are sure that she will always be blessed with congenial companions.

At 3:45 you can always see her hustling toward the bus depot with a pile of books under her arm. But don't let the books deceive youg she has time for other interests as well. Since Rae spends only a few hours of the day with us, we do not know what she does in her leisure time. But judging by the personality, We feel sure that she has found the key to happiness and a well round- ed life. Rae has not told us what her plans for next year are, but what- ever they are, Bon Voyage from the class of '38, Gabriel Falcone me studies in preparation for his future career. We wish you the best of l luck, Gab, Twenty-six Mona Farmery Commercial Course A. A., 4. A blithe heart makes a blooming visagef' P Mona is that small, red-haired girl who sits in Room 4. Although she came to us from Glen Campbell High just two years ago, she has made a genuine place for herself in our school. Mona is rather quiet but proves herself a true friend upon better acquaintance. In spite of the testimony of her curly red hair, Moria has a very amiable disposition. She is very fond of reading and winter sports. Mona is not sure what work she wants to do. She would like to take up secretarial work somewhere. We wish her success in whatever she makes her life's work.
