THE MIRROR David L. E. Brown Scientific Course A. A., 2, 3, 4, lnterclass Softball, 2, 3, Interclass Basketball, 45 French Club, 35 Thespian Society, 43 Football hlanager, 3, 4, Senior Man- ager, 4, Boys' Glee Club, 4, Gods of the lX'1ountain, 4g 'LThe Lost Silk Hatf' 4. 'HA true lover of sports. Dave is that important member of our football team whom we feel could take his place as manager on the all-state eleven. Any Satur- day we could see him tearing on to the field with buckets of refresh- ments for the players. Although he is greatly interested in athletics, you would not know it by his bearing. Dave is always calm, and unruffled, never loud or obtrusive. Brownie is interested very much in fishing, swimming, and hiking. He likes best to hike in the woods. In a year or so we will likely find Dave in Penn State Forestry School. Best wishes, Dave Henry L. Brown Scientific Course Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 45 A, A., 1, 2, 3, 4, Boys' Glee Club, 4. Au honest man, close buttoned to the drain. Henry is one of the taller Seniors who breaks his silence with a deep, very deep, bass voice, a voice that he uses to good advantage in the Boys' Glee Club. Hen'l is an ardent sport fan, and the contest that is played without his presence is a rare one. We might add that he is the object of hidden admiration of those girls who like the strong and silent type. Henry has not named the school to which he will go, but when the choice is made, We feel sure that his future vocation will find an opening for him. Good luck, Hen, Sixteen Thomas Calabrese General Course A. A., 3, 4. In ourselves our fortune lies, Life is what we 'make it. 'fToml' is the boy whom many of us envy and admire because of his dark, beautiful, wavy hair. Not only the girls, for we have heard a few boys wishing they had it. He also possesses two dark blue eyes he can be proud of. Tom is hardly ever seen alone. He usually has two or more friends with him to stir up some lun. Tom'l is not noted for his extreme height, but cheer up Tom, there is lots of room to grow. L'Tommy has not expressed any plans for the future, but the best wishes of P. H. S. go with you.

Pickles is that tall individual in the Senior Class who has the ability to make life happy for his classmates. Anywhere in the school, a good, loud, cheering laugh fmeans Bickley. Roy spends his day going to classes, and whether prepared or un- prepared, having a good time. If anyone ever wants a good argument, just let that persons tangle with Roy. Roy does not have a long list of activities, but he does belong to the stage crew. Although Roy doesn't know what he will do in the future, we wish him all the success in the world. wayne M. Bish A Commercial Course A. A., 3, 4, Jr. Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 45 Glee Club, 4. wherever he goes. Good-nature is the most god-like cowmnendation of a good man. . Buck is that mild-mannered fellow who can usually be seen diligently studying in all of his spare moments. His studiousness, how- ever, never prevents him from having a good time, for he has one On first meeting Chook, one might think him a bit bashful, but as soon as the ice is broken you will find that he is a pretty nice guy, his personality being such that he gets along well with everyone he meets. For pastime and sport Buck'l goes to the woods or stream, where he can bag a bunny or hook a fish as well as the best of 'em. During the winter his interests turn toward ice skating and skiing. Although his friends are by no means limited in number Cliook can usually be found with 'Lois or Hank. Buck is somewhat dubious about his plans for the future, but we wish him the best of luck. Irwin Nathan Blose Commercial Course Red Cross, 1, Z, 3, 45 A. A., 1, 2, 3, 4, Science Club, 2, 3, Commercial Club, 3, 4, Mir1'or Board, 4, Green Stockings, 45 Cheerleader, 4, Thespian Society, 45 Gods of the Mountai11s, 4. Rejoice, O', young man in thy youth. Herk, to everyone, is one of our Cheerleaders who helped cheer our teams to many victories this year, But to the gang, Herk is a mirth leader, who has led so many of our parties to successful climaxes. Aside from this rather strong attraction for parties, however, Herk is a rabid hiking fan. And we are not disclosing any deep secrets when we say that his companions on these jaunts have been girls and boys. To Herk nothing is quite the success it could be if there is not a quantity of fudge around. His motto is, What is life without fudge, and me eating it. ' Next year Herk is going to attend Indiana State Teachers Col- lege. May you be very successful in preparing for your future vocation, Irwin, and may you have a good time doing it. Fifteen

T H E M I R R 0 R Betty Lou Caldwell Liberal Arts and Scientific Courses Science Club, 3, 4, Treasurer of Science Club, 45 Tri-Hi-Y, 3, 4, The Ring and the Lookf' 4, Red Cross, 2, 3, 43 A. A., 1, 2, 3, 4, Class Note Reporter, 4, Poetry Class, 4, Freshman Tri-Hi-Y. With o smile on her lips, and a jolly laugh in her heart. Betty is one of the most pleasant girls in the Senior Class. She is one of those lovable, fun loving persons we all wish we could be. How- ever, l'Caldwell can be very serious or thoughtful when occasion de- mands. Caldwell, although small in size, is far from that in energy and ambition. She may be seen dashing around the school with that lfappy grin on her face. That grin is very much a part of Betty, and is an expression of her cheerful disposition. Betty is very active in sports. She likes to play basketball and is usually an outstanding performer in gym class. Caldwell'l also loves to hike and may be found in hiking togs nearly every sunny Saturday, leaving the metropolis for a tramp in the woods, accompanied by her dog and a crew of friends. Betty has made no definite plans for the future, but we feel certain that with her pleasant disposition, her energy, and her ability, Betty will iind success. Good luck, Caldwell, Laura Belle Carrick Arthur Candiotti General Course Red Cross, l, 2, 3, 4, A. A., 3, 4. Govern your passions or otherwise they will govern you. When you hear a group of girls laughing at a basketball game, you had better look close. You will probably see Art in their midst, for Art's hobby seems to be teasing the girls, and Watching basketball and football games. Art is rather short, has a dark complexion, and must have a magnetic personality. He attracts the girls as the magnet gathers the tacks. Perry is very much interested in machines. He wishes to go to Sharon after graduating to study mechanics. We wish him success, whatever he may do. Liber al Arts Course Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4, A. A., 1, 2, 3, 4, Freshman Tri-Hi-Y, Science Club, 4-5 French Club, 4, Poetry Class, 4. A sunny disposition is half the battle. This is surely true of Lolly, for she always sees the bright side of everything. Her infectious laugh can often be heard from the midst ofa group of her intimate friends. Lolly's chief interest is in her natural surroundings, but evidently she is interested in school work, too, for her name is usually on the honor roll. Outside of school, she loves to hike and camp. Lolly expects to go to college, but has not yet decided where she will go. Best of luck, and donlt forget us! Seventeen
