Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4g A. A., 3, 4g Foootball, 2, 3, 4, Wrestling, 4, Varsity Club, 3, 4. To really know John at his best you have to ask one of those with whom he played football. They will tell you that John is a fighter and carries a real punch in his rather short, but sturdy body. John is quiet both in and out of school and spendsmuch of his time at the West End Service station where he will continue to Hflll 'er up, after he graduates. John F. Baranick General Course A fighter to the last and o fighter that lasts. Tl-IE MIRROR Ethel N. Balls General Course A. A., 2, 4, Jr. Red Cross, 2, 4. Thy liquid notes that close the eye of day. y Ethel is a serious-looking, black-haired girl who keeps herself very neat and dainty, and appears quite friendly at all times. She is quiet and unassuming. However, she is not so quiet when one know her more intimately. Ethel's particular interest in school is Biology. From what we have heard, she receives very good grades in that particular subject. Along with her particular interest for Biology, she likes to take an active part in sports and drawing. Her particular sports are swimming and hiking. Ethel's plans for the future are indefinite, but with her splendid knowledge of Biology, we are sure that she will continue in that field. The class of '38 joins in wishing her the best of luck for future success. John is going to leave a large vacancy in the school on the Harrick l eleven. Lots of luck and our best wishes go with you, john. 4 Twelve Beatrice Belle Barletta Commercial Course A. Bean is one of the busnest girls in the Senior Class, for as Busi- ness llelanager of The Mirror, she is kept running around seeing that every one does his work, lVliss Robinson has a great deal of trouble keeping track of her. Someone suggested that Bea should get a kiddy car to make travel easier, but we are of the opinion that an airplane would be more useful, or why not seven league boots ? With all this scurry, Beatrice does not slight her studies. Almost any noon you can find her mumbling to herself Cdon't be alarmed, for it is really Shorthandj Bea's activities are quite varied, as you can see, but she especially likes roller skating and dancing, perhaps that is the reason for the numerous trips to Indiana. Beotricei would like to study dress designing, and perhaps open a shop of her own. Here's luck, Bea

The play's the thing. If you hear someone say lVIiss Boles wants to see you, or Don't forget rehearsal at 3.45, you can safely guess that Byrt is around. From her list of activities you can see that she has taken an active inter- est in extracurricular activities. She has been very prominent in dram- atics, for she possesses unusual ability as an actress, writer, and director of plays. She wrote and directed Bugs last year and took part this year in the high school play. Next year she plans to enter the training school at the Roosevelt Hospital. We wish her all the luck in the world. Blair Lloyd Armstrong General Course A. A., 3, 4, Ir. Red Cross, 3, 4, Science Club, 4. Silence sweeter is than words. Blair does not make himself conspicuous by talking a great deal in classes. In fact, his chief aversion is any kind of oral report. But put him with acquaintances, and you find, under his silence, a very agreeable felow with a liking for the out-of-doors. Instead of seeking for knowledge out of books, in his idle m-oments, he learns first-hand in- formation from nature, in hunting, fishing, and swimming. His liking for softball also shows that Blair likes the association of other fellows. Blair, with his Customary way of going into things leisurely, will not enter business college until he has worked a year. llffay he find sat- isfaction on whatever road he chooses to follow! ' Ray Louis Armstrong General Course A. A., 3, 45 Red Cross, 1, 2, 3, 4g Science Club, 4, Interclass Basketball, 4. Our thoughts and conduct are our own. In Ray, we have the tall, silent man. When we see his height, and deep-set eyes, We get an impression of latent power. His slowness of reply bears out this impression of deliberation before expression. Al- though he does not speak often in his classes, he knows the correct an- swers. Ray's long strides as he walks picturesquely tell of his liking for hiking over the hills, hunting, or iinding a likely-looking fishing stream. Baseball and softball are his two favorite games. In the future, about which he is undecided, Ray believes he would like to attend some aviation school. Good luck, Ray! Eleven
