THF MIRRGR Phyllis Carbaugh Liberal Arts Course hlr. Red Cross, 2. 3, 43 A. A., 2, 3, 4, French Club, 4, Girls' Glee Club, 3. As ifzerry as the day is long. This is indeed true of f'Phil for she can usually be seen laughing and talking with her pal, Elsie. She is one of the peppiest and most 4 carefree members of the class of l37. Once in a while you see Phil's' brow wrinkled with concentration and a serious look on her face because of a Chemistry question that has just arisen which she cannot answer but that soon disappears and she is ready to have a roarin' good time again. Phyllis will probably enter some hospital next year for training where she will soothe her patients with her cheery manner. lXlay luck and success be yours, Phil l , Qi john S. A lack is that 'Lsorrel-toppedw lad who, when the band plays, per- spires over the kettle-drums. The way he flings those long arms of his around from drum to drum gives us a feeling that we are about to be hypnotized. His part in the band is quite important, as it is he who is responsible indirectly Cthe drum directlyj for those weird, rolling sounds. lack is also very active in athletics. He has played football, basket- ball. and volleyball, and has been a member of the track team. His play in football is not starry but it is consistent. and is a great asset to our team. .Xe spectators at the basketball games, we enjoy watching slack pnt his opponents off-guard by waving his hands as if he were a magician. lack intends to enroll at Penn State next fall, where he will take up stnflit-A+ in preparation for his future career. Good luck to you, Jack, Samuel Carrature General Course 'Q lnterclftss Mushball, 35 A. A., l, 43 Red Cross, 3, 45 Golf, 3, -lg VVrestling Manager, 4. For in his lotfks iucre all HMT 111011 11esi1'f'. f .X. .X., 3, -lg junior Red Fross, l, 2, 3, -lg Science Club, -4, Ilarold is that rather short boy whom we so frequently see hurry- ing around as if he had some important business on his mind. lVe used to think that C'aylor was rather timid in the presence of the fairer sex, but he has completely changed our minds for we have so often found him surrounded by the girls, especially Sophomores. Harold is very fond of all sports and is a loyal supporter of all our teams. He is particularly fond of out-door sports, especially hunting and fishing. Caylor has told us that he expects to attend some business col- lege next year, although he has not decided on any particular one. The class of '37 extends to you its best wishes for success, Harold. jr. Red Cross, 2, 3, 4, f'ommercial Club, 3, 4, Treasurer, C'ommercial flub, 4, .7lII'l'l'0I' Typist, 4. Everyone knows and likes fone because of her friendliness. She has such a lovely smile that she puts you in a happy mood if you're feeling slightly blue. She is willing to help a classmate. She can fre- quently be seen sharing her knowledge of some particular commercial subject with a less fortunate student. Although she is rather quiet and sympathetic, she enjoys her pleasure, too. She delights in parties or spending a quiet evening at home reading, Sometimes we find Ione smiling at us from behind the counter in VVoolworth's. Vl'hat a pleasure it is to have her wait on you! She is just as friendly and willinlg to help as she is in school. Although she has no special plaiis for the future, we predict Ione's delightful personality will be found in a business office. He laid lziuz squat as cz fOlllldl'l'.U Howard was the heavyweight of our westling squad this year. lle was lacking in experience the first part of the season, but once he had a little experience behind him, he rolled his opponents over just like logs. Howard is also a good football player but he had to quit that sport because of an illness and therefore never got much of a chance to show us what he really could do on the field. In music, Howard has mastered the trumpet. He has rendered us some very good chapel solos. Among the outside sports, ice-skating is a favorite with him. Howard has no plans for the future, but he told us that he probably would work in his father's store. Scz'cn!ccn
