T H E M I R- R O R LAURA REISHEL Lollie English Fourse Senior Play, '19 Glee Flub, '16, '17 Shall I couzpare lhee to a S1lllIHIF7',S day? Thou art more I0-rely and more teu1pe1'az'e. Oli! blithe spirit, whither goest thou when thou departest from our midst? VVe have certainly enjoyed the four years that you have spent with us. You will never know how devotedly we all adore you. The days that you were absent were dark and dreary and we just longed for you and your cheery smile. Laura has a habit of calling everybody sweety. Yes, both male and female. Laura has a sweet voice and often entertains us by singing. just as a precaution we want to tell you not to be alarmed when a few years from now a Victor Record comes out with a song sung by Laura Reishel. 1 BENJAMIN RITTER Ben Scientific Course Guard on B. B. Team at Harrisburg Academy Secretary of A. A. at Harrisburg Academy Nor his the form, nor his the eye That yozrtlzful zizairiens were iz'0n'z' to fly .Xt the beginning of this year we decided not to admit anyoneelse to our class. VVell, we lived up to this decision until one day a nice young man came into our midst, smiled upon us, and asked to be admitted to our happy group. That smile would melt a heart of stone, so conse-- quently Ben's request was granted. Benny has an inveterate love for maidens and the Lab. But let me tell you, if you have the blues and want to keep them, don't go near Benny, for if you do, theflittle b-lue imps will surely forsake you. His laughter is as contagious as a disease. Ben will go to the University of Pennsylvania and study dentistry or engineering. We hope it is dentistry for then we can pretend We have a tooth-ache and go to see him every day. ELVIE C. SANDSTROM uxfen Commercial Course Her voice is sweet and low. Iilvie is a very quiet, good-natured girl. You must not think that, because she is quiet, she does not like fun and a good time. Elvie's one trouble is that she does not speak loud enough in class and for that rea- son people arel always reminding her of it. Does she get angry? No. She just smiles and goes on. Here is a girl that does not fail her short- hand class when they get stuck on a word. She is always ready to help those who need it. You would not find her going back on a friend. Naturally Elvie has won the love and esteem of all who know her. After school, Elvie expects to do stenographical work, and we know that she will be a success.

THE MIRROR 1 SARA PEARL OSSAR Hin-fu-1 Scientitic Course Glee Club, '16, '17, '18, '19 Red Cross Luncheon Committee, '18 Hut few have borne unconsciously Your spell of l0i'l'll'Hf'.YS. Some pearls are procured by great risk of diving, some pearls are found in oysters, all pearls are preciaus, but the Pearl which is found in our class, is more precious than words can tell. Loyalty to her class, her teachers, he classmates, and her studies is one of Pearl's chief characteristics. But she is not loyal in vain, for we all love and admire her and her splendid school work. Pearl has a sense of humor which is so pleasing to her friends that it is only fitting that we mention it. Her clever remarks have done so much to help us when we most needed cheering. Pearl expects to take up Pharmacy at Margaret Morrison School or at the University of Pittsburgh and we know that a girl with such cleverness and such personality, is bound to succeed. JOHN X. PANTALL Lsjackw Classical and Scientific Courses Member B. B. Team, '18, '19 Class Treasurer, '17, '18 Alan will not follow where a rule is shown, But likes to take a method of his own. Hudson's, eight-forty two, argumentation, and athletics all remind us of John. The Honk-honk of the Hudson-six, about two minutes after the last gong has rung makes us start with happy surprise-for we know John is coming. By the way, don't get into an argument with John, you're sure to be the loser. John was a guard on our team and also a winner for our class in all Inter-class Athletic meets. His opponents in this work, just as those who debate against him, do not have a lighting chance. As yet, John is undecided as to where he will go to school, but wherever he goes-, well, all we can say is, that John's persistence along all lines will bring him all that he desires. GEORGE WASHINGTON PORTER Porter I Scientific Course Senior Play, '19 No fountain from its rocky cave E'87 tripped with foot so free,' He seemed as happy as a wave That dances on the sea. In regard to qualities there is just as much difference between George's picture and the real George as there is between day and night. He is sober in the picture but in real life he always wears a smile, a smile which chases two dimples from their hiding-places. George is every bit as care-free as his smile. Life has a cheery outlook for him for he would never think of letting cares oppress him. If he should walk up to you some day and start to talk in a manner unknown to any mortal. do not become alarmed for he will just tell you the latest joke and then pass you by. George expects to enter college and learn to be a scientific farmer. How the girls wish now that they were scientific farmerettes!

T H E M I R R 0 R VIOLA SCHWARTZ ttX'i17 Classical Course Glee Club, '19 sl nd all the 'windows of my heart I open to the day. That's just Viola. She always has the windows of her heart open to the day, not only to the day, but to everyone. VVhen you meet Viola, she makes you feel as if she had known you forever. Viola is really a good scholar in both senses of the word good We couldn't imagine Viola in any act of misbehavior. Don't think that Viola is one of these somber, goody goody persons. She is full of fun and those who know her best will bear witness to this fact. Viola is noted for the compre- hensive and full recitations she gives in Literary Digest class. Viola expects to go to Pitt next year, and, if she does, we know that she will make good there as she has done in P. H. CHARLES PALMER SCOTT Scotty Scienific Course High School Play, '19 Senior Debate, '19 Aly heart's in Dubois, lily heart is not here. If you ever hear anyone say, Let's have a party, picnic, a pie- social, you'll know Palmer's near for-that's Palmer all over. Ener- getic, fun-loving, industrious, attractive, and business-like, Palmer has proved a member that our class could not have done without. Palmer has quite a large bank account because he has always collected money for everything that comes along, such as Mirrors, class dues, Biirror cuts, etc. Since the rest of us are optimist's Palmer declares he is a pessimist just to be contrary. But just look at his picture and you'll know that he really isn't one. Palmer is going to college next year to take up electrical or mechanical engineering. But we know The world by him will yet be shook, ' It is in nature's plan. MARGARET SOMERS lXIa1-g Iinglisli Course Glce Flub, '16, '17, l18, ll9 'Te1fs easy enough to be j2le11.w1nt When life goes along like a xong, But the one worth while Is the one who can smile When everything goes dead wrong. VVe really believe that hlargaret knows how to smile all trouble awayg come what may, her smile and cheery disposition remain. lVhen we are blue and down-hearted, Marg comes, and our troubles vanish. Our Marg is a true friend who sticks through thick and thin. She expects to enter the business world, and we know that some office will be frightened by her cheerful sunshine and her heart of gold. Success, BIarg l
