THE MIRROR JANEMURRAY at 17 Jazz Classical Course Comic Editor lllirror, '18, '19 Oh llluae, help me Z0 :lo justice I0 this girl for, To those who know lzer not, no worfds can paint, While those who know lzer, know all vvorrls are faint. One minute you may search for .lane among the clouds and 'tis then that Inspiration leads her to write her good stories and draw her best pictures. lVhat would the NIirror have done without her brilliant inspirations which usually made themselves known with a little squeal or an Oh, I know, I know. Again ,lane may be found in the depths of despairg then Time is the only remedy. However, the smiles have a fondness for Jane and can't seem to stay away. ,lane has won renown in P. H. S. for her drawing and painting, and it is along this line that we wish her most success. She is undecided as to where she will attend school next year, but wherever she goes, the heart of every member of the Senior class will go with hr. MARION ALICE NEILSON Ullary Ann Classical and Scientific Courses Vice President, '16 High School Play, '18 Blirror Reporter, '18 Thou fllll'-lLCZl7fPfl Angel. If you were in Room T and should see a prety slender girl come slowly sauntering through the door while the last gong buzzes furiously, that would be Marion. Wliere, oh where will you find such a combina- tion of wonderful golden brown eyes and beautiful hair to match? Dare we hint that one Senior finds these traits especially appealing? Marion is noted for her tendency to adhere to practical and scientific ideas. Consequently she has acquired the habit of condensing matters in a way which sometimes surprises the rest of us who are not gifted with the same type of intellectuality. Marion expects to go either to State College or Drexel, where she will take Domestic Science. Looks suspicious! HAZEL E. NULPH Hazel English Course Glee Club, '16, '17, '18, 19 Red Cross Luncheon Committee, '18 Her eyes tlfzrla clzrufm were vane to tell. To whom it may concern, we wish hereby to recommend Hazel, as the sweetest and most lovable little girl who has ever graduated from P. H. with commercial honors. Hazel wants to be a stenographerg will she succeed? Oh, my yes! How could she help it when besides her wonderful work as a stenographer, she is also the most cheerful and pleasant young lady in the world. Her voice is always gentle and kind, but she can also display that sterner side. XVhen she does, we know that she is not only kind and cheerful, but determined. XVC love her all the more for that. Good luck and God speed, Hazel.

THE MIRROR MILTON McCALL Milt Classical Course Senior Debate, '19 H. S. Orchestra, '16, '17, '18 Manager Track Team, '18, '19 His life was not his own Nor litwl for self alone. Sure a little bit of heaven fell from out the sky one day, and dropped right down in Smethport but there it didn't stay for, when Milt was just a little boy, lN1cCalls moved to Punxs'y. VVe are glad they did for what would the B. B. team have done without Milt for a guard and what would P. H. S. have done without his Irish wit? No matter how dark the future may look, Milt always has a smile and a cheery word to en- courage his comrades along the road to success. Did you say that basket ball was the only thing that attracted him? VVell, how about a combination of red curls and brown eyes? Ask Milt. lXIilt intends to go to college to study law. VVe know he will be a success. LARUE MILLER Rue English Course Pianist for Glee Club, '16, '17, '18 Glee Club, '16, '17, '18, '19 Thou art so lithe and lovely. This little piece of humanity has been with us for four years. Not even those who know her can appreciate her ,full worth. She has remarkable abilities. She does excellent work in English and is a fine commercial student. But her most wonderful accomplishment is her musical talent. She played for the Glee Club for three years where she won great approbation from her fellow-students. Larue is quiet but she has many, many friends. She is a good scout and always ready to extend a helping hand. With all these admirable characteristics, we are not afraid to send Larue out into the world for we know she will prove Worthy of the pride we have in her. LELAND MOWREY English Course High School Play, '19 High School Orchestra, '18, '19 High School Pianist, '19 His music, when soft 'voices die, Vzbrates in the memory. For nine months we have marched up the stairs to Chapel, to Le- land's martial music. It is by his music that we will best remember Le- land. VVe feared that he might bury his musical talent under several feet of book-keeping and stenography, but we learned from him that one can employ as much skill in pounding the keys of a type-writer as in playing the keys of a piano. Leland expects to enter the business world after he graduates from P. H. S. and here's every hope and prophecy of Success, spelled with a big S,

THE MIRROR 1 SARA PEARL OSSAR Hin-fu-1 Scientitic Course Glee Club, '16, '17, '18, '19 Red Cross Luncheon Committee, '18 Hut few have borne unconsciously Your spell of l0i'l'll'Hf'.YS. Some pearls are procured by great risk of diving, some pearls are found in oysters, all pearls are preciaus, but the Pearl which is found in our class, is more precious than words can tell. Loyalty to her class, her teachers, he classmates, and her studies is one of Pearl's chief characteristics. But she is not loyal in vain, for we all love and admire her and her splendid school work. Pearl has a sense of humor which is so pleasing to her friends that it is only fitting that we mention it. Her clever remarks have done so much to help us when we most needed cheering. Pearl expects to take up Pharmacy at Margaret Morrison School or at the University of Pittsburgh and we know that a girl with such cleverness and such personality, is bound to succeed. JOHN X. PANTALL Lsjackw Classical and Scientific Courses Member B. B. Team, '18, '19 Class Treasurer, '17, '18 Alan will not follow where a rule is shown, But likes to take a method of his own. Hudson's, eight-forty two, argumentation, and athletics all remind us of John. The Honk-honk of the Hudson-six, about two minutes after the last gong has rung makes us start with happy surprise-for we know John is coming. By the way, don't get into an argument with John, you're sure to be the loser. John was a guard on our team and also a winner for our class in all Inter-class Athletic meets. His opponents in this work, just as those who debate against him, do not have a lighting chance. As yet, John is undecided as to where he will go to school, but wherever he goes-, well, all we can say is, that John's persistence along all lines will bring him all that he desires. GEORGE WASHINGTON PORTER Porter I Scientific Course Senior Play, '19 No fountain from its rocky cave E'87 tripped with foot so free,' He seemed as happy as a wave That dances on the sea. In regard to qualities there is just as much difference between George's picture and the real George as there is between day and night. He is sober in the picture but in real life he always wears a smile, a smile which chases two dimples from their hiding-places. George is every bit as care-free as his smile. Life has a cheery outlook for him for he would never think of letting cares oppress him. If he should walk up to you some day and start to talk in a manner unknown to any mortal. do not become alarmed for he will just tell you the latest joke and then pass you by. George expects to enter college and learn to be a scientific farmer. How the girls wish now that they were scientific farmerettes!
