The Class at 1944 wish to express their appreciation lor the advice, cooperation, and interest ol their Faculty Advisers, Mrs, Qlivia Neubauer and Mr. Carl Sawyer. Their help in the worlc ol the class organization, in raising money, and in social activities has been invaluable, and has contributed greatly to the success and pleasure ol the class in our junior and Senior years. Mrs. Neubauer has been instructor ol physical training lor eight years, and Mr. Sawyer has been instructor ol Mathematics lor twenty-lour years, Qur thanlcs to Mrs, Neubauer and Mr, Sawyer. TO THE CLASS OF 1944 Qur lour years in Pullman Tech. have been the most dillicult and momentous years ol our generation. When the storm clouds suddenly brolce and we were plunged into total war, most ol our habits ol thought and life had to be adjusted to the new situation. The boys had to thinlc ol an indelinite postponement of their vocational life, ol spending this time in the direct service ol their country. The school has striven to prepare you lor your vocational life, and to give you Discipline: the ability to obey orders, to cooperate in team-worlc, Sell Control: the ability to do what is right while Hon your own , Leadership: the ability to intluence and control others. These are the things most needed lor your country and yoursell. We leel that you have been successful to a large degree in learning these lessons, and will carry them into a successful future. l want to add a word ol special appreciation to the girls ol the class, for their Fine co- operation in everything we have undertaken as a class. You chose a wonderful motto to live up to when you chose Let us be judged by our deeds. CARL W. SAWYER. 15

SIMILARITY The pages may be clean and white The cover colorful and brightj And yet sometimes the lines you read Do NOT contain the help you need. The pages may be yellowed-torn- The cover colorless and worn, And yet the knowledge hidden there ls joy and wealth loeyond compare. And thus of people it is true The ones who bring the most to you Are often not arrayed in style But always greet you with a smile. l-lilda Butler Farr
