The days of the one-room schoolhouse have disappeared as our world has become one of urbanization and consolidation. Although this early American tradition has fallen to the wayside, it has contributed many enterprising, men to our society. At this time the Oriole Staff wishes to pay tribute to one such man who has unlocked the doors of knowledge to many young people. After attending Hampden-Sydney College and graduating from the University of Virginia, he began his forty-year career in the field of education. Before coming to Pulaski, he served in other localities through- out Virginia as both teacher and principal. For the past twenty-five years he has served Pulaski as a top administrator of education. His contri- butions did not stop here, for he has also served as a past president of the Virginia Association of School Administrators. For his many contributions to the field of education, we the Oriole Staff wish to recognize — MR. FRANK J. CRITZER 10
