In thinking back over the school year represented by this yearbook, I am reminded of the opportunity I have had this year to work more closely with the faculty and the stu- dent body. There have been times of great joy as well as frustration as I am sure there are in any position of administration. To the seniors I would hope that high school has been a happy and rewarding experience but I think that this will be true only in relation to how much you have given to make it that way, I feel, as I am sure that most of you do that we have a good school and one in which we can justly be proud. We know that there is room for improvement and I challenge the underclassmen to set high goals for our school and work to attain them. Sincerely, Dewey S. Wilson Mrs. Barbara Crockett Secretary to the Principal Mr. Dewey Wilson Assistant Principal B.S.: East Tenn. State University Miss JoAnn Lewis Secretary 17

This Yearbook is the result, in most part, of the initiative, imagi- nation, and hard work of students. We are proud that we have students who have the desire and the ability to complete a task involving the quality and complexity of this book. In a day when an unfavorable im- age of teenagers is being formed with respect to behavior, moral standards, and attitudes, it is well that we have tangible evidence such as this to refute such unwarranted charges. Those of us who work with young people every day need no such evidence. We are proud to be associ- ated with them. Congratulations to the Annual Staff of 1963-64 and to the sponsor, Mrs. Edna Love, for a job well done. Sincerely, Kenneth E. Fulp PRINCIPAL Mr. Kenneth E. Fulp B.A. : Duke University M.Ed. : University of Virginia Each morning we are briefed on the day’s activities by our principal. 16
