CPrincipaf Mr. Kenneth Fulp B.A., Duke University M.Ed., University of Virginia MESSAGE TO STUDENTS As I look through a yearbook the following questions come to mind: Do the activities depicted here give an accurate impression of the life of the school? If I were a student, would I be proud to be represented by the students elected to the honors indicated in this book? The 1962-63 yearbook measures up well on both questions. The second of the above questions should give students cause to stop and think while engaging in extra-curricular activities. History has shown time and again that when a group of people take lightly the responsibility of voting for the best possible representative, they have lost the freedom to do so. When individuals refuse to direct their own lives, there is always somebody around who is glad to do it for them. And things do not seem valuable to us until we lose them. I am sure you will join me in expressing thanks to your Annual Staff and Sponsors for this yearbook.
