Five years ago we entered Pulaski High School through doors that opened a new world of learning, playing, and companionship. Little did we realize at that time how much the days we spent here would mean to us in the final moments that we are as one— in classes, activities, and achievements. Some of our friends have gone away to other schools while others have come to fill the gap. These we have taken to our hearts and we hope they have been nourished by Pulaski High as we have. The memories that have been stored in our minds are priceless for they shall lighten many burdens— illumine dark hours, if we but bother to take them from their shelves, dust them off, and restore them in their rightful places. Memory will be our link with our old friends and serve as stories to be handed down to the youths that will take P. H. S. as their home. Among our memories of our last year on “The Hill” are the first day we marched into the auditorium and the thrill of being really seniors, tlie grandeur of the Miss P. H. S. Contest with the crowning of a senior girl as queen, giving the gift of a huge decorated tree to the underclassmen, the work we put into the dream of a class trip, our own Youth Day when we finally got to “wield the rod” and the soon— too soon— to be realized dream of graduation. We feel greatly honored that the 1960 Oriole has used our class colors- red and white— as its theme basis. It is our belief that this is the first year that any Senior Class has been so remembered. We have been led and guided by wonderfully understanding teachers throughout our high school career and in this last year we want to express our gratitude and respect to our most able and hard-working sponsors— Mrs. Miller Bushong, Miss Suzanne David, Mrs. Harry Loftus, Miss Mayme K. McCoy, Miss Ellen Palmer, and Mrs. J. C. Totten. Pulaski High, we leave to you our pride, our love, and our loyalty. May you always be a symbol to future youths as you have been to the Class of ’60.
