DEDICATION In carrying out the theme of our Oriole this year, it is most appropriate that we honor two persons who have played a major role in our school lives. Twelve years ago, they moved to our community at the time many of the present Seniors were entering the first grade. A guiding light in our school, devoted parents in their home, outstanding leaders in the community, and active members in their professional organi- zations, makes these two persons worthy of our recognition. In addition to their many duties as principal, spon- sor, and teacher, they have always been willing to listen to our problems and give us a second chance. It has been their goal at all times to provide edu- cational opportunities for all the boys and girls of this community. Our school lives have been enriched not only mentally but also spiritually under their devoted leadership. We, the Staff, proudly dedicate the 1958 Oriole to Mr. and Mrs. William R. Garland. 20

MR. W. R. GARLAND Principal Another school year has passed. With the passing of the days each of you has grown in many ways. Along with your growth has been the growth of our school. Growth and progress require participation, work, respon- sibility, and co-operation. We will progress in proportion to how well each of us does these things. Your real worth to yourself and to society will depend upon what you have done with the education which has been offered you. Whether you will remain but a small fraction of what you might have been, or whether you will exceed even your own fondest dream of success will depend, within limits, upon yourself. I have faith and confidence in you as young people to use what you have learned in a manner which will reflect honor and credit upon you, your school, and your com- munity. My wish for each of you is that you will enjoy to the fullest degree a healthy, whole- some, and happy life. W. R. Garland MR. J. S. FOWLER Assistant Principal MRS.
