UNDEFEATED All hail the victors! Pulaski. for the first time, won the city championship. After only seven years in the city conference, Coaches Gene Wozny, Harry Max, and Al Thurner produced a rugged, hard hitting team. With the excellent material re- turning from last season, and a victorious frosh-soph, a top notch team was produced. Eight returning major letter winners and fourteen minor letter win- ners got right down to the busi- ness of becoming champions, In their first encounter, the Ramblers pulled a big upset by overpowering a favored Wash- ington team, 19-0. Big Neil Wor- den was the sparkplug, scoring all t h r e e touchdowns. He sparked the team by intercept- ing a pass on the Purgold 40 and running it to the 50. Within five plays he scored. Worden scored again over center in the last half. The Oklahoma Avenue boys punched East Side's defense to pieces for a 28 to 7 victory. Fred Reichert broke away through right tackle and put on a terrific burst of speed to outrun all East siders for a 75 yard touchdown. Bob Grollo, defensive right half- back, was injured and out for the rest of the season. The Boilermakers from Tech proved to be worthy opponents. Tech held the Ramblers to a 3 to 0 edge until a 46 yard pass broke up the game. In the open- ing play of the fourth quarter, Worden teamed up with Kos- matka on a pass for a 7 to 3 vic- tory over Tech. ac Ko Nel Wo d D Bu don P ste S 9

Third Row: White, Mgr., Miller, Woida, Kosmutka, Witt, Chrostowski, Burdon, Derse, Coach Wozn THE TEAM KEEPS ROLLING South Division had fight and determi- nation, but couldn't match Pulaski in class. Evers, a Cardinal back, ran back a 90 yard kickoff for a lone score which did not help. The final score was 34-7. A fighting Lincoln team gave our Ramblers a scare by taking a 7 to 0 first quarter lead, but the Woznymen showed that class will tell and ran up an even- tual 28 to 7 Victory. Gene Chrostovvski pulled a ligament and was on the bench for two games. The Ramblers were not up to stand- ards in their game with King. Neverthe- less, a first quarter pass from Kosmatka to Molenda, and a 15 yard field goal in the third quarter gave the Woznymen a 10-0 victory. Worden's 93 yard touch- down run was recalled because the backfield was in motion. Iuneau received a sound thumping from the galloping Ramblers. This rainy Saturday afternoon produced a muddy field, but it did not prevent the boys from gaining a high score of 63-0.
