g-. Charles Klase, Vice-President, Shirley Lyman, Secretary: Miss Josephine Philipkowslri, Sponsor: Arthur Szplett, Treasurer: Garth Johnson, President: Mr. Kenneth Steffen, Sponsor. THE JANUARY CLASS No, we say, it can't be! Why, we were freshmen only yesterday, timidly walking down the corridors with bewildered looks on our faces, trying exasper- atedly to open resistant lockers. Even then we were striving for our goal, yearn- ing to be seniors, hungering for our diplomas. Now we've got what we wanted-or have we? No, there's a spark of envy within us as we see ourselves in the new freshmen who walk so cautiously through the halls. How many long hours we once spent working algebra problems that would suit our teachers' requirements! How we longed to make a good impression! We never thought of being tardyg we were mortally afraid of the deep, dark recesses of the office. As sophomores we developed our school spirit at the football games, the swim meets made us feel a sort of pride for our school. We read The Cavalier, a real newspaper just for our school. We became true Pulaskians. Upper classmen soon, the corridors, homey, cozy, the prom stimulating the grown-up feeling within usp bond rallies making us feel we were doing our bit fir our boys in service. The rush of high-school life grew swifter, took on an almost breathtaking pace. Then suddenly it stood before us-4grad'uation -stark, staring at us. We wish fervently, almost prayerfully, that we didn't have to leave Pulaski, leave our teachers, leave our principal, Mr. Westgaard. We are sad. We are happy.
