. -.ii-.,. LEATRICE BABCOCK DALE HANNER Secretary President IOHN NADOLNY DANIEL IAWORSKI Vice-President Treasurer JUNE SENIHH CLASS IIISTUHY In the fall of September, 1939, Pulaski opened its doors to another new class of freshmen. Little did anyone know that day as these new students assembled in their new surroundings, how ambitious, potential, and challenging they would become. The freshmen and sophomore years passed leaving our class acquainted with the general routine of high school lite and a realization of its importance. For the most part this year was one of orientation. Mr. Filipiak and Miss O'Bri- en were chosen as the class sponsors. Then the junior year, Oh yes! This was when they became part of the upper classmen with many opportunities which were received with much gratification and put to the greatest ad- vantage. A spectacular event was the junior prom, a gay event with a South American at- mosphere. Louis Szrot reigned as king with Grace Cyganek as his chosen queen. The jun- ior class witnessed a great event that year when the swimming team took first place in the city meet with the aid of several up and coming junior boys, including Louis Szrot, Norman Sobczak, and Raymond Gaudynski. Through all the excitement, activities, and joys of high school days, sad incidents over- shadowed a part of it. Many ot our students, both boys and girls, were called to the service of our country, sacrificing not only their educa- tions: but in some cases, their lives. In this crisis many of the classmen here at school were found giving freely and willingly of their time to the aid of the Red Cross, ration boards, sal- vage and scrap drives, and above all, a great spirited campaign for the buying of war bonds and stamps. All too soon came September of 1942 with the last year of high school beginning for this class. Early in the year, class officers were elected as follows: President, Dale Hannerp vice president, Iohn Nadolnyg treasurer, Daniel Iaw- orskig and secretary, Leatrice Babcock. Social events of significance included the homecoming dance, the aquacade and the sen- ior prom, which highlighted the year. Through popular vote Marie Kneser reigned as queen with Robert Kroening as her king. The last few months of school included the class play, A Kiss for Cinderella, in which Marjorie Porath and Melvin Berg starred in the leading roles: the spring prom, character day, cap and gown day, and the senior ban- quet. The class was distinguished by many of the boys joining the Air Corps Reserve during the last semester, and the girls securing employ- ment in essential war industries and registering in nursing and F. B. I. work for their post-gradu- ate work. All too soon these events, planned with great sincerity and thought, came to a close, leaving many memories in the hearts of the Seniors as they said Good Bye, it not with a tear in their eyes, then in their hearts.
