With a new attitude they surprised the fans by showing their Warrior pride with a new sponsor, Jennifer McNamara. This last past summer head cheerleaders Annabelle Nunez and Annette Estrada gathered up the girls and held car washes. They were just as active during the school year by showing off a new routine at the annual mixer dance, which is a dance that welcomes the incoming freshman. The cheerleaders also sold candies to raise money for the new cheerleading suits. These girls had a lot of support from their sponsor Ms. McNamara, a U of A graduate, and former cheerleader herself. Ms. McNamara was a reading teacher at Utter- back Jr. High, she taught home economic as well as being the cheerleaders' sponsor. 15 Showing their spirits are Cbottom row left to rightb Noro Coronado, Mascot Gloria Baron and Maria Lopez. Second row are, Dena Hackworth, Cecila Barboa, Perla Maldonado, Endo Maldonado and Annette Estrada. lop rowl are, Annabelle Nunez, Josie Martinez and Evelyn Matus. 27 Annabelle Nunez leads the fans in a spirit raising pep song. CJD Pueblo's famous mascot is Wally Warrior alias, Louis Canstanado. 45 Homecoming sparks a light, reuniting former cheerleaders with their old sport and companions. 55 As the varsity and jv cheers take a break a warrior breaks a tackle and heads for a touchdown. 65 Co-captains Annette Estrada and Annabelle Nunez demonstrate a new routine. 73 Warriors, we soon will be, is probably what these two young mascots Gloria Barron and Vanessa Martinez are thinking. 7 Varsity Cheerleaders 83

Poms Prove Successful There were two veterans among the new comers on Pom squad. Their summer was full of hard work and excitement. Car Washes, bake sales and night practices fill- ed their schedule. The squad was made up of twelve devoted girls including two spirited mascots. They all showed a lot of pride and dedication toward the school while performing popular songs in half time shows. Their responsibility during basketball season was mainly preparing dance routines, which took a lot of time and hard work. Pueblo was proud to have a group of girls so dedicated and full of pride representing them. 15 l, Lori Torrez, and Helen Rodriguez congratulate each other for a fine performance of cheering at the Homecoming game against Cholla. 27 Songleoder Yvonne Ayala joins the spirit at the night pep rally. 37 This year's 1981-82 head and co-head songleaders were Ana Coronado and Stella Rivera who were both seniors at Puebla. 47 PuebIo's pep squad consisted of three young spirited mascots who were Priscella Martinez, Gloria Baron and Vanessa Martinez. 551981-82 Songleaders are, bottom row, mascot, Vanneso Martinez.
