5' Lack Of Experience Huris Basketball Team The 1981-82 freshmen boys basketball team was coached by Mr. Crane, a history teacher at Pueblo. Lock of experience hurt the team physically, but late in the season they became com- petitive with other teams. Coach Crane emphasized that the team worked hard, never gove up and continued to improve. Everybody played a leadership role. One of the toughest teams in Pueblo's league was Sunnyside. The team's final game won-loss record was 2-13 and their league record was 2- 7. The Pueblo freshman basketball team finished their season in 5th place. The J.V. girls' basketball '81 team played up to their poten- tial, Their toughest competition was with Sabino and Buena. What enabled the team to do so well was perserverance. The mast improved player was Marina Lopez, and she tried to be the best. The girls worked very hard during their season. The team's leader was Loretta Nichols who was the most talented, and outstanding member of the team.
