The squod consisted of two returning seniors ond juniors while six other newcomers joined in. During the seoson Don Gibson proved himself to be the most voluoble runner ond Borry Morgon wos chosen most voluoble teom member. The 1980-81 seoson turned out to be quite o success. Five boys quolified for the stote divisionols ond Tom Thomos wos one of these five. He ron the 400 meter sprint with o time of 48.54 molsing himself number one in STOTG ond seventh in the notion. The girls' trocls teom hod twenty three enthusiostic runners. Ms. Finley cooched 19 returning from the 1980 seoson. Two of them were seniors, B. Medrono ond B. Fitzgerold. The seoson finished with Rose Grisby quolifying for the stote divisionols. She competed in shot put ond finished 4th in stote. Both the boys ond the girls trocls seoson proved to be exciting. 1?
