Warriors Go Last year the 1980-81 baseball team made history at Pueblo. Pueblo's coach, Buddy Warnke, stated that he had exceptional pitching and a versatile team effort that brought the Pueblo XVarrior's baseball team the City Championship title, the first since 1963. The Warriors then traveled to Mesa to meet Scott- sdale High School. At Mesa's Hohokam Field, in the first game of the class AAA State Championships, Peublo lost to Scottsdale by a score of 3-13. Pitcher, James Gonzales ended the season with a 7-A record. He had struck out 81 in 73 innings and had an ERA of 2.31. James was also awarded athlete of the year.
