M. ...c Jw. ri, V rsiiity F M FEM with Urmijumirli s Pueblo's varsity football team started the season with only 9 experienced players which was to take its toll as the Warriors dropped 7 of 10 games. Lack of experience was not the only problem the Warriors faced. Injuries also became a factor as only 4 players made it through the season without injury. At one time the Warriors did have an impressive two game winning streak, with back to back wins over Catalina and Rincon. But, then came a heart- breaking game against Cholla, which the Warriors lost 21 to 20. The Warriors ended the season with another disappointment by losing to Salpointe 22 to 8. After the Season ended, there was one Warrior, Rene Duran, who was recognized for his outstanding play on the field. Rene received All-City honors from both Tucson newspapers. Rene was also selected for the Super- 24 team. This award goes to the top 24 football players in the state of Arizona selected by the Arizona Republic newspaper in Phoenix. --Peter Moralez Qc-z. f rw '
