Pueblo High School Cheerleaders worked very hard this year to raise Pueblo's spirit. During summer vacation they had car washes to raise money for camp and new uniforms. They also made spirit posters and boosters. During the Football season the Cheerleaders kidnapped the Senior Football players and paid for their breakfast at Sambo's. Goals were set by the Cheerleaders, they were to promote spirit and pep throughout the student body. Each Cheerleader was required to attend a class everyday during second period. Head Cheerleader was Lucy Velez, while Marie Elsa Martinez was co- head. The sponsor was Mrs. Elaine Scott. There was a junior Varsity squad and they cheered for the junior varsity teams. They too were very active during the year, preparing to try out for the Varsity squad. Members on the Varsity Cheerleading Spirit Squad were Sylvia Soltero, Vivian Lopez, Liza Figueroa, lulie Alferi, lacque Starks, Theresa Moreno, Barbara Mazon, and Nachie Martinez. Members of the l.V.
