MQ 1 x Pueblo's Choir had an out- standing year by going to the Southwestern Regional Music Festival held january 26, 1980 at the UA. Members brought back superior awards. The students that got superior ratings are: lorge Altamirano, Gracie Amaro, Virginia Potter, Robert Rivera, and Earvin Wagner. These singers participated in the solofensemble division. Superior ratings were given in the mixed ensembles also to these students, Gracie Amaro, Carla Anderson, Diana Delsid, jeff Gross, Clara Granillo, Henry Guasp, loy Moshier, jeff Reese, Robert Rivera, Donna Short, Troy Seals, Carl Urbina, and Ear- vin Wagner. These students per- formed at the finals held March 'l. -Sam Valdovin ONE: Choir members rehearse before a performance. TWO: Mrs. Yvonne Cano takes a break before the next number. THREE: Ricky Reed gets the much need- ed help from Debbie Batt. FOUR: Chorus members include, Stand- ing: Kristi Rommel, Esperanza Mendez, Maria Lopez, Frank Valenzuela, Clara Granillo, Luke Gross, Diana Delsid, Avangela Hubert, Troy Seals, Deborah Batt, loy Moshier, Carla Anderson. Kneeling are: Enrique Guasp, Donna Short, Carl Urbina, Marcia Carillo, Vir- ginia Potter, Earvin Wagner, Christine Villa, and William Chandler. FIVE: Student director, Earvin Wagner, gets his music together. SIX: The end result is a performing Choir.

Gvbrrolhnesitrran Pueblo's Orchestra won two gold medals at the Southwest Music Regionals. This is the first time in twenty-five years, this award was won. The winners were Wanda Howell and Cindy Campos who both won in the solo division. Other winneri were Myriam Valdez and Liz Ro sas, who won silver medals. Fund raisers bought new uni forms, scholarships for gradual ing seniors, and helped to pay fc field trips. -Sam Valdovin- ONE: Kathy Merin and Felicia Perry practice before a performance.
