Pueblo's Ben Franklin club had fund raisers throughout the year to benefit the print club and it's members. Mr. loe Cicero and Tony Cardenas supervised the club in making note pads, buttons and gold stamping on the El Dorados. luanita Pacho, secretary, was among the eighteen mem- bers who met during Voca- tional period everyday. An awards banquet was held at the end of the year to honor out- standing club members. -Sam Valdovin Preparing for an exhibit dur- ing May was the main activity of the Pueblo Metal Crafters Club. The purpose of the club was to make customized pro- jects for anyone who wanted one. All money raised was used to buy materials and supplies for the Metal Craft students. There were 18 members. Officers were George Gaste- lum, president, George AI- corta, vice-president, Kevin Ehrichs, secretary, and lesus Morales, treasurer. The club met once a month in S- 102.-Sam Valdovin ONE Anita Pacho sets type on the headliners. TWO Gus Hoyer at work. THREE Lisa Valenzuela works at the printing press. FOUR first row-joe Cicero, Manny Delsy, Mike Payne, Gus Hoyer, Pat- rick Baily, Second row-Tony Car- denas, Dave Lucas, Nathan Alcantar, Angelica Pedroza, lohn McCormick, Third row-luanita Facho, Virginia Tona, leannie Stevens, Fourth row- Frances Martinez, and Lisa Valen- zuela. FIVE Trini Amaya and Kevin Ehrics display their work. SIX Frank Salinas and Mario Galindo work at preparing project. SEVEN front row-George Alcorta, Daniel French, Trini Amaya, Kevin Ehrichs, Danny Muniz, Gabriel Ro- mero, Mr. Salazar. T5 Part of the Mexican heritage is still being kept alive at Pueblo. Mu- sic, song, and dance are all part of Los Payadores de Pueblo, under the direction of Mrs. Sally Lefko. This is her first year as director of the group. During the spring, Los Payadores won first place at the Regional His- panic Music Festival in San Diego. The Christmas concert, the fiesta and the San Diego exchange were a few things the group participated rn. Funds came from the use of fees and donations. They also had a win-a-Serenade, this was a con- test where people had the chance to win a serenade. For the first time, this year, harp lessons were incorporated into the group. Tryouts were held in january to choose new members-Sam Val- dovin ONE: During a performance, Margarita Higuera, Cecilia Robles and Alicia Ordonez do the traditional Bamba. TWO: Soloist lose Enrique Rodriguez, sings during the Christmas show. THREE: Cecilia Robles spots a dancer to keep the pace. FOUR: Los Payadores de Pueblo include: Bottom row dancers, Irasema Molina, Margarita Higuera, Cecilia Robles, Alicia Or- donez. First row, Angelina Ruiz, Craciela Amaro. Second row, Vivian Hinoios, Maria Louisa Hinoios. Third row, Catalina Ruiz, Olivia Ordonez Top row, Armando Gonzales, lose Enrique Cas- tillo, Rudy Almalan. FIVE: Harp lessons were incorporated into the group as Mrs. Lellto shows. SIX: Beginning Dance Class members are Top row, Lupe Diaz, Ruth Loya, Brenda Morales, Oleila Torres, Francisca Figueroa, Delma Lopez, Alida Aguilar, Carolina Valenzuela, Middle row, Martha Ortiz, Becky Guasp, Sandra Rodriguez, Patsy Robles, Lupe Valenzuela, and Front row, Regina Serrano, Betty Segura.
