Low-rider cars don't speed, they simply cruise the streets. These low but luxurious cars are expen- sive to customize. About S3600 is the esti- mated cost and that does not include the -M vehicle's cost, only the interior and exte- rior decorating. The work is done usually by the owners of the cars. The main attraction of the cars are their hydraulic lifts which cost 55500. Other ac- cessories are chrome wheel rims and new tires that are valued at 5600. A S350 paint job completes the exterior. Interior deco- rations are valued at up to S1500 with some chrome designs costing 5550. Tucson low-rider clubs have formed a coalition and they include Suave, Raza Image, Classics, Brown Pride, along with the Crusaders. This united coalition has organized some activities helpful to the Mexican- American community of Tucson. Some activities consisted of a car show and combined caravan. A fall caravan started on Sixth Avenue and led to EI Con shop- ping mall to promote muscular dystrophy fund-raising. Another fund-raiser for low- S- rider bikes was sponsored at Reid Park.
