Mr. Neil commented that there are no new teachers this year and motivation is the only problem facing the department. All classes except World History and Gate are state required for graduation, so students aren't always working up to their potential. In the opinion of some students the material is interesting, but not clearly explained. Some of the classes available are: Free enterprise, American Government, U.S. History, Arizona Government, and Arizona History. - Cynthia Varelas ONE Tomasa Reyes completes social studies assignment. TWO Mr. Neil points out an issue in American government class. THREE Investigator, Mario Sanchez, prepares for another school day with his free enterprise survival kit.

U , 1 E Laura Hodges Rosalie Wong Sagrlgno Santa M rouiz Physical Education Mario Castro Larry McKee Oscar Carrillo ONE Student aims for a strike. TWO Concentration is the main idea for bowling. THREE Taking four steps are a few of the basic rules for bowling. FOUR Freshmen students have fun fooling around in the water. FIVE Warming up is a daily routine in P.E. and Diane Walker and loanne Ormsby show how it's done. Physical education is a two year class that is required for graduation. Some of the courses offered are swimming, volleyball, tennis, square dancing, and other sports. The new course offered in the P.E. department is bowling. Bowling was a sport that not too many students knew how to play. Many juniors at Pueblo have had the oportunity to learn, lt all happened at the new nearby Santa Cruz Lanes. Students took bowling as a class and have had much success while earning credit. Both Cordelia lundquist and Betty Nye plan to retire to devote their time to sports, crafts, travel and reading. They have taught at Pueblo for 25 years. Oscar Carrillo also left the department for a career in the U.S. Postal Service. -Sharon Sims .
