Several things took place in the math department this year. A new teacher was welcomed to Pueblo named Mrs. Kay Waterson. For the first time in years, we offered several data processing courses, said department head Mr. john Williamson. Mr. Williamson feels the best thing in the department is the computer courses and college algebra, although no college credit is given. There are no classes which give college credit to students any longer. They were discontinued because of lack of interest. - Sam Valdovin ONE loe Navarro works hard in his consumer math class. Autoshop, woodshop, welding, electronics, and power mechanics all have new machinery , department head, Al Arellano, said proudly. Also new was Pat Richardson, woodshop teacher. No major problems have occured in Industrial Education, and final remodeling only brought minor problems such as construction cost. Mr. Arellano was asked if girls were becoming more involved in Industrial Ed, and according to him enrollment has remained steady over the last five years. Approximately twenty girls were involved in different areas, not including printing and photography. These two classes have high female enrollment. - Sam Valdovin 1 Industrial Education aa X 1 s. , 'ei a n J tg t J Barbara Beamer Tom McCarthy Robie Eastlack HER H we ' X I ff il l 'vw I , 'lm A In-vt ' I' lf if ww X Joe Cicero Mike Padilla jim Honcoop

Mr. Neil commented that there are no new teachers this year and motivation is the only problem facing the department. All classes except World History and Gate are state required for graduation, so students aren't always working up to their potential. In the opinion of some students the material is interesting, but not clearly explained. Some of the classes available are: Free enterprise, American Government, U.S. History, Arizona Government, and Arizona History. - Cynthia Varelas ONE Tomasa Reyes completes social studies assignment.
