But some think that there should be more guys involved in this class, so that they can learn different household and child care responsibilities. Karen Schnieder, and Claudia Lusteck remained in the department as in past years, because they liked -- 5: 'R x working in home economics. Most people enjoyed taking home economics classes because the classes helped them plan for the future. Even though most felt this way, some students took home economics just for the easy credit. Rings and Things , the class that helps ,: students plan for the future, K showed students how to figure future budgets that they might have once they're on their own or married. Also it helped the students realize what they could get out of life after they have graduated. Home Economics offered a club called FHA, Future Homemakers of America. Fine Arts Yvonne Cano Don Caslow Barbara Beamer .Y- Nelson Wilt Ed Messing Fine Arts found challenges for music, art, and drama students. Drama season opened with Billy Budd and ended six plays later with The Circle . Students rehearsed long hours and art students painted the set for Billy Budd . Stage set construction was done by all the drama students. Art students were involved in self-directed art projects and helped with many school art activities. Diane Fisher was a new teacher in the art department. While drama and art students stayed active, music students performed in school concerts and other benefit performances outside of school. New band instructor this year was Edward Messing. - Pearl Elliott ONE Cindy Campos, freshmen, rehearses to perform at a fall concert. TWO Mr. Herrera, shows Bobby Villa, senior, drawing technique for picture of Bruce Lee. THREE Armund Dunk, junior, draws in advanced art. FOUR Lourdes Sotelo, senior, works with her macrame project.
