Januarg Beeping horns, happy parties, and wishes of good will brought in a new year for 2600 Pueblo students. With renewed enthusiasm for a new month and a new year, everyone plunged headlong into a flurry of ac- tivities. Never halting through the holi- days, the senior class kept working on the prom. Midnight in the Kiolen, January 21, was decorated with snow and pine trees. Hi and Smile Week provided an outlet for happiness with everyone obliging tradition with a smile and a greeting for all, Patricia McNally and Richard Blanco were crowned Mr. Hi and Miss Smile at the concluding dance. More royalty graced the campus when Penny Maerk was named DECA Sweetheart. Attending her were Susan Goodman and Edna Whelan. Not all fun, January also brought semester end and exams. Se- niors realized they had crossed the last big bridge before the on-rushing graduation date. Pro, Pro, he's our manl If he can't do it, the team can. George sure helped the team do what Catalina couldn't. The score edged up for Pueblo to a final victory. Competition was at a peak throughout the entire week, and each class took an enthusiastic part. 26 tween the four classes during the allotted time. After the dust cleared at the Rodeo dance, the seniors were pronounced victorious over the affair. Mr. Espinosa led band members and pep leaders through the streets of downtown Tucson to the sounds of the Tiiuana Brass. The Lettermen pulled the mission-type float while Edna Whelan and her attendants waved to the crowd.
