Field events--ROW 1: Ken Hammond, Mike Curtis, Robert Sinex, Mike Holly, Jaime Yslas, Flenard Grisby, Calvin Henry, manager Mike Saucedo. Clearing the bar with ease, Mike Holly shows the winning form that made him outstanding in the pole vault and a consistent point winner. l78 ROW 2: Milton Bector, Joe Demuth, Weldon Jones, Ed Meyers, Frank Renteria, Chuck Anthony, Francisco Saenz, Dan Pallanes. Eddie Myers and Flenard Grisby were the two top high iumpers in the state and Ken Hammond was one of the leading long iumpers in the city. Flenard began to prove his natural abilities as a freshman, when he won the state high iump event in 1966 with a jump of 6 feet 4 inches. With this kind of record, Grisby is expected to surpass state records.

In many field events there were Chuck Anthony-shot put, Mike Holly-pole vault, Flenard Grisby and Ed Myers-high iump, and Ken Hammond-broad jump, The running events were done by Ron Jackson-sprints, Willie Lewis-440 yard run, Leonard Gaskill-middle distance, John Anderson, Willis Maki, Louis Chaboya, Raul Gomez-long distance, and Bill McKinley-hurdles. 177
