.. . HONOR SERVICE SOCIETY... Newlyorganized this winter was the Pueblo Honor Service Society. The basic purpose of the club is to give service to the school and the commu- nity. Members serve their hours without achiev- ing such awards as are granted the other activi- ties--letters, pins, etc. President of the new group is Tim Campbell, the vice president is Carol Eberle, and the sec- retary is Dannette Wilson. Mr. Henry Piolote is the faculty advisor. .. . BEAKER BREAKERS. . . Students who se interest in chemistry and curi- osity about chemical phenomena cannot be satis- fied in the regular chemistry classes can pursue their interests in the Beaker Breakers, The c lub sponsor is Mr. Tony Navarretteg offi- cers are: Jerry Rasmussen, presidentg Roy Lim, vice pre sidentg and Clyde Sakir, secretary- treasurer. The club enjoys the privilege of using the chem- istry laboratory for their experiments. , , OPTIMIST CLUB. . Girls interested in a future as teachers of phys- ical education form the member ship of the Optimist club. The new organization has no officer s, but has been active in a number of activities under the direction of their spon so r, Miss Jane Stratman. Among the activities of the g r oup have been the study of city and county recreation opportunities, the visiting of the girls' physical education depart- ment at the University, and the sponsoring of a free dance for Pueblo students. The last activity was arrangedin cooperation with the city recrea- tion department. . . .ROCKET CLUB. . . The first organiz e d high school rocket club in the state of Arizona, and the first to actually launch a rocket is the group s pon so r e d by Mr. John Phillips. Understanding the basic principles of rocketry and determining the futur e role of rocketry in our civilization are the m aj or pur- poses of the group. The club officers are Jam e s Thompson, presi- dentg George Vigeleos, vice president, and Joan Slocumb, secretary.
