. . WILDLIFE CLUB. . Learning more about the flora and fauna of our m ountains and deserts is the major aim of the Pue blo Wildlife Club. The club has taken field trips to the Rincon Mountain s, Ventana Cave, and Gardner Cave. They have collected specimens and le ar ne d to identify s pe C ie s of plants and animals and have studied camping procedures and trapping techniques. Mr. Clay Hitchcock is the advisor for the group and Doug Nine, .Terry Acker and Ann Griffice are the officers. ...SAFETY COUNCIL. . . Part of a city-wide group of high school students dedicated to the promotion of safety activities in and around the local campuses, the Pueblo Safety Council conducted an automobile safety check and held a student a s s e m b ly to remind students of their part in public safety. Officers of the group are Margaret Laos, chairman: Rita Sims, sec- retary, Ed Harsh, senior representative: Gary Clifford and Tommy James, junior represent- ativesg Le slie Bell, sophomore representativeg and Pat Edmunston and Rodney Sim s, freshman representatives. . ..HI-TEENS. . . Newly o r g an i z e d at Pueblo, the Hi-Teens aim To build a fellowship of women and girls devoted to the task of realizing in our common life those ideals to which we are committed by our faith as Christians. In this endeavor we s e ek to under- stand Jesus, to share His love for all people and to grow in the knowledge and love of God. Mrs. Etta Mae Dawson is club sponsor: officers are president, Sue Spicer, vice president, Donna Gilpin, s e c r e t a r y, Diana Strauserg treasurer, Carol Hawkins, representatives, Frances Saldate, and Irma Coronado. . . . PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB. . . Mr. Tassi's Photography Club expends its energies chiefly upon contest photography. A m ong those competitions in which the group is interested are the An s c o-Scholastic Magazine contest, and the Eastman Kodak contest, both are national com- petitions. The Pueblo Chapter of the National Quill and Scroll is a small and very select group and membership represents outstanding achievement in newspaper or yearbook work. Advisor for the local group is Mrs. Jacqueline Hawkins. Officers are, president, Sylvia Kerr: vice-president, Jean Thompson, and secretary- treasurer is Dave McClure. . .MODELING CLUB. . . Chief concern of the Modeling Club, directed by Mrs. Eileen Sherlock and Mrs. Shirley Robinson, is the wear and selection of proper clothing. The group sponsored fas hion shows for the girls of Pueblo High. Club officers for the past year were, president, June Popsong vice-president, Dannette Wils ong secretary, Marie Moroyoquig and treasurer, Cruz Polanco. . . . RED CROSS ORGANIZATION. . . Mrs. Katherine Sasse's Red Cross Organization was easily one of the most active of the Pueblo clubs during the past year. A service group for the community, the Pueblo chapter was give n national recognition when its president Louis e Contreras was featured in the Junior Red Cross Journal. Among the important projects for the ye ar were the big fall enrollment drive and the preparation of Christmas gift boxes. The Pueblo Square Dance Club is sponsored by Mr. Chuck Beals and its aim is the amusement of its members. Its meeting s are open to all those interested in this particular form of enter- tainment. Officers of the group are Bob Wilson, presidentg and Carol Eberle, secretary-treasurer.

. . DRAMA CLUB... Girls who desire opportunities for participation in dramatic activities beyond those offered in the regular all-school presentations are the members of Mr. Herb Waesch's Drama Club. The group presenteda spring one-act comedy for the Pueblo students, entitled Florence Unlimited. President of the drama club is Eloise Pugh, and the secretary is Cecilia Aros. . . . LETTERMAN'S CLUB. . . Open only to boys who have lette r e d in at least one sport, the Letterman' s Club, under the sponsorship of Coach Leo Johns o n, has as its purpose the furthering of Pueblo sports and the promotion of tournament and non-scholastic sports activities at Pueblo. Tony Suar e z is president of the clubg Larry Toledo, vice presidentg Karl Von den Steinen, secretaryg Henry Ole a, treas- urerg and Vic Foley, sergeant-at-arms. This ye ar the club sponsored the appearance of the Harlem Clowns and Worked toward m aking the Tucson Relays a memorable event. . . . . BEN FRANKLIN CLUB. . . An organization for tho s e who are interested in printing as a hobby or a profession is the Ben Franklin Club. The club has just completed its second year of activity at Pueblo High. Mr. James Honcoop is the club sponsorg president is Ardie Glassg vice pr e side nt, Joe Morales, and secretary-treasurer, Cecilia Aros. ..C1IR.LS'RECREA'1ION ASSOCIATION. . . Miss Cordelia Lunquis t is the advisor for the Girls' Recreation Association, a s p o r t s-social group for Girls who enjoy participating in games. Sportsmanship rather than ability is the empha- sis of the organization.
