Mr Brooks and Mr. Van Horne snatch a few minutes to discuss some matter concerning the student body be- fore theypart to attend to one of the in- numerable details that come under their supervision. They'll return to their offices in a few moments to find them filled with students or facultymemberswithmore problems to lay before them. 'bf' ...Tv With Miss Iris Mulvaney of Pueblo High School serving as chairman our school was host to a pre school Language Arts Workshop conducted by Mrs Margit MacRae Supervisor of the teaching of Spanish in the elementary s c h o ol s of San Diego The workshop was sponsored by the Tucson Public schools and was attended by teachers of English and Foreign Lan guages from the several schools in the city Mrs MacRae placed her emphasis upon learning a foreignlanguage through familial-ization not analysis 103

The department meetings have become a series of workshops aimed at effective teaching. At the ore -school meetings the new- comers are given a briefing on the whys and ways of Pue blo' s pro- gram.

DRAMATICS CLUB Mr. Waesch is the sponsor of the Dramatics Club. Offi- cers are: Jody Polk, Presi- dentg Cecilia Aros, Vice- President, This group works on original skits and short plays. FUTURE BUSINESS LEADER OF AMERICA The Future Business Lead- ers of America is under the sponsorship of Mrs. Valde z and Mrs. Tracy. The officers are: President, Ella Akers, Secretary, Madge Farnsworth, They help to promote b e tte r understanding of the business world. They have also spon- sored some films such as Do You Want to be a Secretary. GOLF CLUB The Golf Club has as its sponsor Mr. Griste. Its of- ficers are: Jim Clark, Presi- dentg Eric Grieshaber, Vice- president, Secretary, Ellen Layman, Treasurer, Art Car- denas. This Club will com- pete against Tucson High and Catalina, and next year will have a full schedule. MUSIC APPRECIATION CLU This club has as its spon- sor Mr. Holley. Its officers are: Barry Davis, President, Richard Ysmael, vice presi- dentg Albert Felix, Disc Jockey. This club is for peo- ple who are interested in better understanding all typesof music.
