Class Prophecy Class of 1956 Last mght on the twenty e1ghth of june 1976 the Semor Class of 1956 was honored w1th the prlulege of dedlcatlng the new one mxlllon dollar school at Pruden Tennessee Governor Dana jones of Tennessee was responslble for approprlatxng funds for the bulldlng and lt was h1s wrsh to haxe h1s graduatlng class preside at the d6d1CBt1OH Mrs Slmmons Sponsor of the 1956 431,355 was honorary hostess for the occaslon At a dmner party ln the school s sumptuous banquet room for the members of the class of 56 each person brought us up to date on the happemngs and adxancements ln his llfe The glrls were engrossed with the reports on fashlons by the well known deslgner Shel y Dykes who now resldes ln Parls France Later ln the evemng Mrs jerry Taylor the former Eleanor Gxbson related some experl ences for whlch she won the Congresslonal Medal of Honor for her nurslng abxlxty durmg the war Mrs Charles Stephens known to the dlnner guests as Mary Nell Parrott told of her exper1 ences ln startlng the flrst school 1n East Afrlca She 1S a medlcal mlsslonary there Molly Hendrlckson M D now married to Kenneth Davls gaxe a few pomters on personal hyglene practiced ln the school Whlle the after dlnner coffee was belng served George Hurst world famous archltect told about the school bulldlng whlch he deslgned Wanda Gaylor Secret Agent for the F B I who a1ded 1n the capture of the worlds most Ierry Davls told us about her part ln the acqulttal of Dr Lamual Shepherd ten years ago She sald he was ln a pathetlcally emaclated condltlon oan Klng told the glrls about all the el1g1ble males that she has been meetlng whlle belng Secretary to the Presldent of the U S A E L Buhel Modestly told how he got started In bus1ne ss and became owner of the world largest constructlon company Mr Buhel xs very proud of the new school whlch h1S company built Tennessee s youngest multl m1ll1ona1re My Lee Sller told us of the new crlppled Chlld ren s hospxtal whlch he 15 planmng to support ln the fall Alfred Sller a broker on Wall Street saxd that he would help support the new hospltal H Is golng to bu1ld a new recreatlon hall for needy chlldren Loulse Hurst Mrs james Kennedy psychlatrlst at Alcatraz related the condltlons of the pmsoners She wlshes to establlsh a recreatlon hall for them later thls year Helen lones commandlng offlcer ln the Wacs stressed the fact that our country needs Women ln the Armed Forces She 15 now at the r cru1t1ng Off1C6 1n Nashx 1lle The edxtor of thls paper IS a graduate of 1956 Alene Weax er Thxs paper IS proud to state thls fact The exenlng as all exemngs of enjoyment wlll do came to an end The out of town guests retlred to Mrs Slmmons manslon 1n the resxdentlal dlstrlct of Pruden Tennessee . , - . , , . . , I . .
