F M MRMRMEMR RMRMYM On 59Pt0abGT 1, l9U8, I along wlth seventy other Nli'l ole green freshmenu climbed the steps of Pruden Hlhh School with a sigh of relief We were the first freshmen in the hlStOP5 of P H S to escape the dread ed initiation that took place every year. After much confusion and the teachers pulling out their Wmuch-neededn hair, we were finally organized and -:Q ' , I 4 ., A ' as sw if 'C s , E 54 if . H 1 2 H .4 SG 1-r V R M an 1 A . H N . I Z . . o 5, a as , T H Ll L I '1 I I placed in two separate rooms With somewhat of a strug gle we made it thru that first year We continually kept busy, as freshmen usually do, trying to be noticed by the great Wupper classmenn None of us had very much success at this except for the lovely sewing done by the girls in the Home Ec. class and the material the boys added to the basketball team After a three months vacation, began. The class was almost as big with only four gone We were again arate rooms This time the boys 1U the Sophomore year as the year before placed in two sep one room and girls in another Cwhich was a bitter dlsappointnent to one and all'J The excitement of the year was the blg fight be tween one of the students and a certain Algebra teacher and I'm sure all of us remember the day of the baseball game and especially the way we got there No one obgected but the principal The Junior year was lots of fun with the rings coming the Junior play CnThe Hoosier School Master a grea success!! the Jr Sr Banquet, and the trip to the Smokies e class was still large with forty eight enrolled that year We sally told the Seniors goodbye and waited restlessly to take their places During the summer that followed there was a strug ple to keep the high school at Pruden To solve the problem and bring relief to all of us, Tennessee took over all the school, instead of just half of it When school began again, the class was reduced to the small number of lk Now we're nearing the end of what has been the greatest of all our school years We leave with a mixed of wanting to repay the de t we owe our parents, teachers, and friends who have helped us in so many different ways these last four years We leave with the dread of seeing our classmate! for the last time but also with the growing expectancy of meeting new friends and making our own special place in this world of prosperity 10 .
