ROYALITY AND DANCE The year's annual Homecoming dance was held at the Excelsior. As expected, it was enjoyed by most everyone who attended. For some, it was a time to renew friendship. For others it was an occasion to be soon forgotten. During a short intermission, time was taken to acknowledge this year's royalty. Mary Holland(top right), was crowned queen. Her first attendant, Kendra Woolf,(top left) and second attendant Melissa Augustus (above) were also recognized. The evening, as a whole, was exquisite. 28 j Cl)tu0mas ®ancc Five days before Christmas, the halls were all bare. At the Christmas Dance the students gathered with care. With a mist of dazzling lights in the cold winter air, The place was the County Building and Santa was there. People laughed, danced, and snuggled up tight. In big, bulky sweaters - they were all a delight. Bah Humbug not heard 'til the end was in sight. After all, it was a Great Night! 30 f Dressed in grand fashion, Couples glided across the balloon covered floor with a feeling of romance pervading the room. The dance was sponsored by The Limited. The royalty were Jenny Wright, Queen, with Carmella Begay and Jill Anderson as the attendants. 31 boys wm i Kendra Woolf Snow was drifting through the sky as the couples arrrived at the UTC Ballroom. After royality was announced, darkness descended upon the room. Although the power was out momentarily, the night ended in an enlightened mood. Melissa Olsen 32 MV Everyone who attended Girl's preference this year was impressed with the decorations, music and fun atmosphere. The theme was County Fair and various booths were set up, including a fortune teller and a lemonade stand. Jest like Ruff House Ruffins, they wore levi's, boots, holsters, hats and bandannas. Each couple danced as if they were auditioning for Hee Haw. The fiddle faded as the rooster crowed 11:30. They all headed out with chewed straw in mouth and a smile on their kisser, as they caught their hayride home. It was a good ol' time. 36 I GOL.FIGHTL.WIN! Helen VanOrman Ben Owens 182 Physical conditioning has always been important and it is a traditional requirement in the curriculum. In recent years, fittness has undergone a renaissance, until at present, being in good shape is not only a fad, it's an obsession. Thanks to our expert staff, this energy can be channeled in a way that will leave our students with a life- long pattern for good health. 184 Plhysk Il Mnn £alln®nii 1 5 Is life a mere hypothesis? Many questions are asked by students, such as, are we of potential energy, striving to understand the primary cause of creation? We are disecting lower life forms, memorizing formulas, learning that even teachers posses the physical properties of speed, velocity, impact and foot pounds of energy. Looking through the microscope of life, we have found the primary answer to all the questions, and consequently it helps us to appreciate our existence.
