Proposals for school improvement were passed on to the Legislative Council, which in turn took action by pledging and promoting support of the groups they represented. The highlight of Mrs. Clark's English class was the weekly reading day according to Linnaea Harrison, Selene Sandburg, and Ronald Persons. Judy Carling took advantage of oral reading opportunities offered by Mrs. Taylor in her English class. Reading, recording experiences, discussing good books, and mastering spelling and punctuation were only a few of the many activities that went on in the English department. -21- English II English III German I German II Calvin H. Bartholomew . . . counseled sophomore officers; with members of projection Club presented noon movies. English III Anglish IV Milton A. Nelson . . . promoted American Education Week, was English curriculum chairman. English II Elementary Clothing I Advanced Clothing II Lois J. Howell . . . chairman of fashion review held on Girls' Day; served as senior class advisor.
