Who Saved The Day Harold Boyack, clerk of the board of education, handled all the financial affairs of the Provo City Schools. This was no small job, as the expenditures for the year, including books, supplies, building costs, maintenance, and salaries, were well over a million dollars. Working with Mr. Boyack were Elma Penrod, secretary to the superintendent, Dorothy Woodward, secretary of school lunch, and Karma Hanseen, secretary to the clerk. Position of Superintendent of Buildings was filled by Justin Winkler. His competence and the efficiency of his work were evident in the upkeep of the buildings. Hungry students kept the cooks at the school cafeteria working hard to prepare tasty, tempting meals. Credit for planning and preparing the nutritious menus went to Mrs. Amy Taylor, district lunch supervisor, LaPearl Roberts, Ellen Row-berry, Pauline Thorne, Verda Daily, and Mary Farrer. Keeping the campus and the school building in tip-top condition was the job of Moroni Cottam, Wallace Casper, Andrew Mostert, and Glen Kirkwood. The students were grateful to these custodians for the uncomplaining hours they spent to keep the surroundings clean and beautiful.

Thanks ... To Those Dean of Girls, Libbie C. Hayward, counseled and guided the girls on the campus, who felt that in her they had a real friend. Along with the hours of help and guidance she gave the girls, she taught English and acted as the chief advisor for the Girls' Organization. Sherman Wing, assistant school principal and teacher of English, also acted as Dean of Boys and advisor for all boys activities. Mr. Wing assisted Mr. Tregeagle, and in his absence took over the leadership of the school. Both students and faculty members in need of advice at all times found in Mr. Wing a winning smile and a friendly, helping hand. Anna Lou Jones s pleasant attitude and quiet efficiency kept the office and all business affairs in excellent shape. Only she could nave so capaoiy carea for an office with so many strings attached. An understanding friend to all was Dr. Lloyd C. Whitlock, student coordinator, who helped solve personalproblems that faced the students during the year. This was only one of the numerous services that Dr. Whitlock tendered the schools.

Provo City School Board members worked ceaselessly to improve the quality of our educational system. They were: Harold Boyack, Merrill Christopherson, Algie Ballif, Milton Marshall, Amos N. Merrill, and Ray Murdock. 'Greetings ' to Provo High School Students Yesterday, I used an hour to re-turn the pages of some earlier Provo High School yearbooks. This experience brought with it many delightful memories. Too often, we fail to completely enjoy the daily incidents of school at the moment they are happening. It was genuine fun to relive those days that were filled with so much pleasure. Each of you students and particularly you seniors will prize this yearbook. It will be a storehouse of memories for you. As the years go by, its record of happy high school incidents will become priceless. Cordially, J. C. Moffitt Superintendent
