High administrators of school life are our faculty members-stern and stead- fast, yet kindly and understanding. Theywatch over our intellectual and social struggles and guide them with intent to mould All-American boys and girls. Secondary administration and the right to contest or approve a higher decision is given to student leaders, who are selected in a democratic way by students themselves. Shouldering their responsibilities with the cour- age and straightforwardness charac- teristic ot American youth, these leaders endeavor to maintain the high standards and ideals of the body which they govern. , 5,- ,S-5. isis I al . .1 it i gym? .., , .,., , Vi, ,Ya E I FC! Her life was a silent witness to Him who brought Life and Light and Love into this world. Every day she opened her eyes to the sun- shine of lifeg and when she lay down in her final sleep, the sun still shone as she stepped into the Great Beyond. lt was not a sunset glow, but the glow of the dawn of a new day. Twenty -One wp- . 3, - 2 M xr if 5 L v Entering high school as a sopho- more--wise yet foolish-a student wonders how the many problems which confront him can be solved in the span of three short yearsg how- ever as progress is made, the student is shaped to a higher level and becomes a junior, possessing a better knowledge and understanding of past events and looking forward to new heights and goals with a little more confidence and poise. After the trials and tribulations of an in-between are over, the next upward step finds the student an intelligent and polished senior, reigning with supreme command. His reign ends with graduation-the goal he anticipatedrand strove for as a sophomore. ' llllill .V + A . ,z,,, ,W . . Discontinued for two years, the dance review has been revived this year by Dorothy Richmond, dean of girls, who is well-known for her colorful and original dances. Credit must also be given to Tom Boshard, local artist, designer of all costumes, and Louise Clark, piano accompanist. Dances featuring the Stars and Stripes, Russian, Nautch, Bolero, the Fairy Tale, Sleeping Beauty, Morning, Waltz Reverie, and the elemental forces-Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind -were beautiful and finished accomplishments. Football mentor Kimball guided the Bulldog eleven through an undefeated season that gave them a tie for the region title. Coach Simmons turned in his third straight Alpine divi- sion winner, andthe l94O quint was undefeated until they were nosed out in the third night of the state basketball tournament by an inspired Dixie team. The five then rallied in the final game to take third place in the state classic. The annual intra-mural basketball tournament, under the leadership of Delbert Warner and Rudolph Reese, faculty adviser, was one of the highlightsof the minor sport season. Other minor sports that developed under the leadership of Kimball were boxing matches and the introduction ofa baseball team into Nebo loop play, Coach GRIFHTH KIMBALL Coach CHEERLEADERS Left to right-Betty Pratt, Garth Pehrson, Edith Clark.
