LIMITED NUMBERS PIN WRESTLERS This year's wrestling season did not have as great a team effort as it did an individ- ual effort. Having to forfeit most of their matches because of small numbers, the Varsity team can boast great successes on the parts of Nick Nagel, John Hasner, Percy Thomas, and Vince Valente. Nagel, who won most of his matches this year, could not wrestle in state competi- tion due to torn leg muscles. Hasner went on to regionals, but lost 4-2 in his second match. Pictured right. FROSH WRESTLERS BALANCE TALENT The crop of frosh wrestlers were a Very talented and well-balanced squad. Much im- provement was seen during the course of the season as the wrestlers learned more techniques. This year's highlights were in meets against Rich South and Hillcrest as the freshmen put to use their confidence. Outstanding freshmen were Odell Waters, Frank Saraceno, Darryl Similton, Joe Garr, Mike Laurence, Brian Kowalski, Gene Man- darino, Randy Endean, John Olson, Mario J anneau, Craig Walker, and Larry Doyle. JV HAS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS This year's JV team got out to a good start as plenty of competitive wrestlers joined the team. However, eligilibility spoiled the JV team's hopes of a winning record. Fin- ishing with a 1-13 record C0-7 in confer- encel, the JV Panthers' highlight this sea- son was beating Argo in their first meet.
